Much to the shock of New Yorkers -- nay, Americans -- the Los Angeles Times ran a piece Wednesday declaring the City of Angels the Jewish deli capital of the world.

Though at first we did not feel such a preposterous assertion was deserving of a response, we've decided to put together visual proof of the city's superiority when it comes to corned beef, chopped liver, and everything else one can nosh on and clog their arteries with.

But we need your help! Below are 7 of the best Jewish delis we could find in New York. Surely we're missing some, so please add ones we accidentally passed over, and vote on your favorites while you're at it.

Just click the PARTICIPATE button below to upload your pictures and mark them on the MAP! If you don't have any pictures of the restaurant, a screengrab from Google Maps' Street View will work just fine.

Help us decide which deli is the best!

More than 20 years ago there were Hebrew National Deli's in Brooklyn. They sold only Hebrew National deli products, which were very high end. They sold everything from franks and knishes to hot meat platters and Dr. Brown's soda. They were cheaper and more plentiful than any place in Manhattan.
The best tongue, pastrami, turkey, matzoh ball soup and sometimes swedish meatballs around.

It's a shame they are all closed now.

Take time and go to Katz Deli. Forget Carnegie Deli. It's is an overpriced tourist trap.

Katz:

Sarge's is the best. Carnegie and Stage are overpriced tourist traps with awful food.

Carnegie's good but do they HAVE TO make the sandwiches that large. Can't we have a normal sized sandwich option?

That certainly looks to me like WHITE BREAD in Katz's photo.

I'll stick with Broadway Danny Rose, thank you.

And in L.A. Nate & Al's is not bad, but Mort's in the Palisades is great even after the wonderful Mort died. See Curb Your Enthusiasm for scenes.

I go to Katz's every time I'm in The City. The pastrami on rye (not lean) is to die for (LOL). We usually sit against the wall (Waiter service), if we can across from the "When Harry met Sally" table, and, when we're finished, we usually take home a whole pastrami, a loaf of rye (no seeds) and a bucket of pickles (they always seem to throw in the mustard for free).
I've been uptown to those celebrity kosher deli's, and, while they have a fine product, there is no comparison to Katz's.
Living on the East End of Long Island now, it's hard to go without a Katz's pastrami on rye for to long. In fact, hmm, wife wants to go to Pennsylvania tomorrow, ahh, an excuse to go through Manhattan. Thanks Guys, I'm glad you reminded me. Yaaay, Katz's tomorrow!!!!!!
