Chicago politicians are already for sale. Maybe they could hold a public auction and just be honest about it.
This is akin to burning the furniture in order to heat the house.
1. Illinois politicians and all public servants (excluding police and fire) should be required to pay an additional tax.
or
2. All politicians and all public servants (excluding police and fire) should pay a toll to get into and out of the buildings that they work in. They also must be required to go to work every day.
I am more for number 2.
