The Glenwood Springs Post-Independent:

The department charged with keeping an eye on Garfield County's oil and gas industry remains among the smallest in county government.

The department this year was expanded from two employees to three, and its proposed budget for 2010, if approved, would be more than three times what it was in 2008, jumping from $165,496 in 2008 to just over $532,000 next year.

You wouldn't believe how badly polluted Colorado has become from these oil and gas fields.

I know for a fact that the gas industry rammed through frack'ing to avoid an Environmental Impact Study... now half of Americas drinking water is contaminated... all with the help of the local government..

Half of America's water source is contaminated? Where's your proof? (sorry rhetorical question, I realize you are just shooting from the hip). You know for a fact that the gas industry "rammed through frack'ing", ok please provide the "facts".

Let me guess, the fact that the County is understaffed and under funded is somehow the big bad oil companies' fault, no doubt part of the big conspiracy to destroy the environment and manipulate prices.
