Brad Pitt In Motorcycle Accident

TMZ:

TMZ has learned Brad Pitt was involved in a minor motorcycle accident moments ago in Los Angeles.

A witness at the scene tells us Pitt was trying to weave in between cars while at a red light -- but he lost control and fell off the bike.

Awww glad he wasn't really hurt but good to see these bike people who think they can get ahead by doing what he did or driving in between rows of cars while we are stopped in traffic while we have to just sit and wait it out. Sometime I'm going to see a biker comming and open my truck door on these clowns. Just because they are on two wheels they think the regular rules don't apply.

Don't he and Angelina have 6 kids? Regardless, I agree he needs to be cautious..­.perhaps give up the motorcycle until the kids are grown. I would not let my husband get a Harley until our son was grown and out of the house.

Well, it sounds like there was no other vehicle involved, but let this be an opportunity to say to people in cars please give cyclists plenty of room, they are pretty defenseless on their bikes and I see vehicles getting right on top of them sometimes.

Give plenty of room? In case you missed it what Pitt did was patently illegal. A motorcycle must, I repeat MUST, stay within a vehicle lane. It is illegal for a motorcyclist to pass between two cars even if there's room. It is illegal for two cyclists to ride side by side. I realize that both activities happen constantly but any cyclist that does this deserve whatever happens to them. Pitt should have been cited if for nothing else then for being an idiot. I wouldn't wish an accident on anyone but the best way for a motorcyclist to avoid one is to obey all laws and not out yourself in a position that might get you killed. Pitt broke rule number one of safe motorcycling: He did something that was dangerous.

Lane splitting by motorcycles is permissible but must be done in a safe and prudent manner.

He clipped a parked car - that's another vehicle. Nothing said about damage to the car, if any. But if he hit hard enough to fall off his bike, surely some was done. While I don't know about CA, most states have a $ value limit, after which time authorities must be called. Even if the damage limit was not met, it's not acceptable to hit someone's parked car and run away.

If he's a big enough boy to ride a bike recklessly, he's a big enough boy to act responsibly and either leave a note on the windshield or contact the cops. Don't give a hoot if he is a famous movie star, running and hiding is teenage boy crap.

I have admiration for him as a person and am a bit upset that he did it that way.
