20 Guesses: What Rumored Apple Tablet Might Look Like (PHOTOS)

Apple is working on a tablet computer that could be announced early next year.

Apple chief Steve Jobs has been "pouring almost all of his attention" into the device, the WSJ reported earlier this year.

What will it look like?

That's one of the great unanswered questions in technology right now: Only a select group of designers, engineers, and executives at Apple and its partners know for sure. (And depending if and when it's released, many things could still change between now and then.)

In the meantime, many gadget enthusiasts and illustrators have published concept sketches of what they think the Apple tablet could look like. Not surprisingly, many of the concept design cues come from Apple's existing gadget lines: The iPhone and Mac.

Did Apple buy Etch-A-Sketch? Seriously, tablets are the next evolutionary link. I see a market for third parry carrying cases. Leather would be nice for the office crowd and a heavy canvas (hemp?) for the college crowd. Lastly, are they still teaching typing in schools? How that has changed. Can typing be taught on a glass screen? Okay, this IS the last point. I hope they provide a Dvorak keyboard setting.

when i heard of the Apple tablet about 7 months ago, i thought it would be a huge success, after seeing these mock ups I predict not only enormous commercial success but this device will have a huge impact on the tech and information scene
