"There is no Jewish vote," said Hank Sheinkopf, a leading Democratic political consultant who is working for Bloomberg this election. "The 11th commandment used to be thou shall vote. The 12th commandment was thou shall vote Democratic. In New York City they did neither in 2009."

Best news I have heard for a long time. I'm sick of foreign policy being dictated by people who put the US second.

I lived in NYC for a long time and have had many Jewish friends and neighbors. I have also worked for Jewish companies (small) in NYC. However, many Jews influenced US politicies for the benefit of Israel over the US interests. In Florida and NY one must be a friend of Israel to get elected. A British friend of mine told me once that Jews in Britain were British first. Not the same here. There has been a Jewish lobby whose only interest was Israel. We give more monies to Israel than any other country, yet the percapita dollars are among the highest in the world for Israel. I would like to see this influenced diminished so that America can make better strategic decisions that are in our interests. It was interesting to note that in the write up of the causes of 911 a point was made about the uneveness of our influence of our policies for Israel over the other middle east countries. The Jewish lobby had enough influence to strike out this comment. This was an example of how we really support one side over the other. People can say that Israel is our friend but need we deny other friendships just to keep theirs?
