Secretary of State Hillary Clinton turns 62 years young today, and we can't help but be sentimental about her style statements over the years. She started out as sassy Miss Rodham sporting striped pants and huge glasses in the '60s, donned sparkles and scarves in the '70s and '80s, and worked up to becoming the 1990s first lady who fancied a good plaid and headbands. And now, as the modern day pantsuit enthusiast, Hillary has certainly covered a lot of sartorial ground. Oh, my. Really? Do I actually have to say it? I suppose so, since no one else seems inclined to... Would any male former senator, presidential hopeful and secretary of state be reduced to his legacy of style? No matter how much Hillary Clinton accomplishes, it is sad to note that in this country, she is ultimately seen as just a chick, and what she wears and looks like is more noteworthy to many than what she says. Sad. Happy birthday anyway, Hillary. I do not now, nor have I ever, cared how you style your hair.

Now, I am confused. Pictures that I usually see of her have her in awful looking suits, all one color, looking like Sears. These pictures are far better than my impression has been. She has the looks, her hair is great, her face is great......I always felt that she needed help with her clothing and style.

Having said that.......WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY HILLARY!!!

Looking at these pictures, I am reminded of horrible things that she has had to go through while being in the public eye. The death of one of her parents was at a really unfortunate time though I can't remember when it was. She has taken a beating from the Thugs, an inappropriate amount of abuse, for trying to change the healthcare system. I believe that the attempt to kill the Clintons' spirits and character was all about their desire to change healthcare.

That VERY FIRST pair of pictures, showing her looking pensive and perched on a rock, are spectacular.
She really WAS a stone fox at that point and I can see why Bill was so infatuated. She was very sexy.
But at that time her philosophy and worldview combined as a force which made her unconcerned with her looks and she gave in to a series of disastrous style choices in hair, face, clothing and eyewear which ultimately clogged the aesthetic outlets for her physical appeal.
She finally emerged later with a bit of flair, but one has to wonder what she was thinking for that decade behind the huge glasses and the schoolmarm hair.
Now it's Chelsea's turn, and the young Clinton girl has confounded and shamed all those who echoed
"White House Dog". Chelsea is a very sexy and smart young lady.
I do hope she makes better marriage choices though, her career meanwhile, is on a good track.

Hilary has always been a class act. Smart, focused and hardworking. Our country is lucky to have her (and Bill should kiss her feet every day!). Happy birthday, Madame Secretary!
