Timothy William Pollard, Greeley Man, Accidentally Shoots Friend In Head While Watching Football

The AP reports that a Greeley, Colorado Man, Timothy William Pollard, accidentally shot his friend Sunday while the two were checking football scores:

Greeley police arrested a man they say shot his friend in the head while the two checked football scores on a computer at home.

Police say the shooting happened as 37-year-old Timothy William Pollard and his friend were both handling a handgun while they looked at football scores Sunday evening. Greeley police Sgt. Joe Tymkowych says 28-year-old Robert Knorr is expected to survive the gunshot wound.

The Denver Post reports that Pollard "has been arrested on suspicion of negligent assault, attempted manslaughter and prohibited use of a weapon."

Imagine the scene: two guys are fondling a firearm while checking football scores when gun is discharged, nearly killing one of them.

I mean--how do you explain that to anyone?
