Jayson Blair

LEXINGTON, Va. — Disgraced ex-New York Times reporter Jayson Blair will be the featured speaker at a Virginia journalism ethics seminar.

Blair will speak on "Lessons Learned" Nov. 6 at Washington and Lee University's Journalism Ethics Institute.

He resigned from the Times in 2003 after an investigation found he had plagiarized or fabricated major portions of articles he had written during four years with the newspaper.

For the past two years, he has been working as a certified life coach for a mental-health practice in northern Virginia.

My colleague and I were at the Ethics Institute this weekend. Read our story about it here: http://commonwealthchronicle.com/2009/11/10/exclusive-the-chronicles-weekend-with-jayson-blair/
We also sat down with Blair for a video interview.

It seems perfectly appropriate to me, and calls to mind former drunk drivers who caused accidents in which others died, who now speak on behalf of MADD -- it's someone saying, don't do what I did; look what happened!

I'm glad he's trying to redeem himself. The world can learn a lot from reformed theives, liars and deceivers.

That is the funniest headline.

That he's a 'life coach' is almost as funny'''

Wall Street greed is what was taking down wall street and journalist ego's will be what takes down business journalists. They have each become circus clowns by their own rights just to get their names out there. we now know that jealousy is yet another trait of these insecure people.
The NYT helped in creating monsters like these. Requiring all bright and shiny backgrounds instead of a local kid with the fire in his belly. Journalism, USED TO BE FOR THE PEOPLE!
It's not fame, it's not something personal. just WRITE THE F*-ING STORY!

"Blair will speak on "Lessons Learned" Nov. 6 at Washington and Lee University's Journalism Ethics Institute."

Lessons Learned? "I can still make a big profit off of my dishonesty." Let him go live in a van down by the river already.

George Bush and Sarah Palin are STILL making a big profit off their dishonesty..........

So in YOUR OWN words "Let him/her go live in a van down by the river already."
