The way blind people dream is quite unique, but dream they do, just as frequently as anyone else. On the other hand, "Do blind people see in their dreams?" has a much more complex answer.

A better, more appropriate question could be, what do they hear in thire dreams?
We already know that they can imagine what objects could look like just by feeling them. To form a picture of a Pineapple or a Strawberry would be easy, as would their unmistakable aroma/scent but can you imagine not being able to appreciate thire intense colors?

So are blind more or less depressed than us? A couple of overcast days in a row & we're ready to kill ourselves but for the blind living in the constant darkness?

Never considered it. Of course they dream, but what do they 'see'. I would love to read some interviews with the blind as to what they experience in a dream.

I'd love to read a journal somehow, if someone recorded their dreams later in braille, maybe, or told them to someone. Bet it would be fascinating.

Fascinating article! I guess it's silly to think that blind people don't have their own unique sense of sight, even though it's different from those who can see.

I can't believe I've never thought about this before. I'd love to read some interviews about the specific images blind people have seen in their dreams.

Wow that is interesting, it makes sense that they often dream about transportation I cannot imagine how much of a struggle that is.

Fascinating topic. It would be great to interview a blind person and get his or her perspective.

I gather you can dream about anything within your consciousness. If you are visual, then your dreams will be. If you have never encountered something then it's probably not possible. So that is yes everyone dreams but about what is based on what you've encountered and how.

Along those lines, there are some terrific classical musicians who are also blind. I have always wondered what symbolic system they substitute for reading music.
