Bernie Kerik In Jail Until Trial: Court

NEW YORK — A federal appeals court has rejected a request by former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik to be free while he awaits his corruption trial.

The ruling came after arguments Wednesday at which Kerik's lawyers asked the court to overturn an order revoking his bail. Judge Reena Raggi said the court would have to see a clear legal error.

A lower court judge had said Kerik had wrongly shared secret pretrial information with a supporter.

Kerik has pleaded not guilty to accepting renovations to his co-op in exchange for recommending a company that sought business with New York City.

Kerik won glowing reviews for his leadership after the Sept. 11 attacks. He was later nominated to lead the federal Homeland Security agency but withdrew as corruption allegations mounted.

Let him stay behind those bars, and use influence inside.
Maybe he can make some deal to negotiate renovations in his cell.

I am so happy to see this crook locked up. Now if only he could get sentenced to 150 years like Madoff!

Ha ha ha ha!
It would really be cool if he was sent to a Bagdad prison.

Bernie is finally getting what he gave out--punishment. What a fall from grace. To think that this man ran NYPD as Mr. Law Enforcement is mind boggling. He ruled the poor communities of NYC with an iron fist. He made minced meat of low level drug dealers, vagrants (the homeless), and protesters. Now lookat him. I wonder if he made other deals whiole commissioner?
