Boehner

Think Progress:

Republicans have been insisting for months that Democrats are shoving a secret bill down the throats of the American public. The health reform legislation "should be posted online for 72 hours so members and the American people get a chance to see what's in these bills," House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) told Fox News. "But it seems to me that Democrat leaders want to rush these bills through Congress before anybody has a chance to read them."

In fact, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) "has repeatedly pledged to Republicans that the health bill and any manager's amendment would be posted online for at least 72 hours before the House votes," and he promised again this week...

Boehner and the GOP have absolutely no interest in your, your children's, or your parent's health care, including that granny who, as they said, would get the plug pulled. The GOP is all too happy to make use of the health care provided by our taxpayer money for THEMSELVES, their children and their parents. If health care reform with a robust public option does not pass, we, the people, need to begin a National Referendum to revoke the health care these Senators and Representatives enjoy.

Boehner: "We've got better ideas and we'll be talking about them over the next week."

We've heard similar statements many times before. But ever notice that "next week" never arrives? Ever notice that, not only don't they have better ideas, they actually have NO ideas?

Put up or shut up, O Tanned One.

How 'bout doing something constructive instead of destructive?

I've met people on committees and in groups like the PTO who think the best way to contribute is to point out the flaw in every single plan. Plans that other people designed, and that other people are implementing. These people never really do anything, produce anything, except complaints.

When these people gripe about some pet peeve that they have, and want something done about it, as a leader I've generally said, "Wow! That IS a problem, and you seem to have a lot to say about it, having given it a lot of thought. Why don't you design a solution and run with it?"

Funny, but I've never heard another thing from those people about those pet peeves, since the people don't want to have to actually do something about them.

Not only does Boehner have nothing to contribute, but he has no shame about it, and has no clue when to just shut up and let people get things done.

If those people can't survive the PTO, how the he11 are they getting re-elected time & time again? I guess it's because there are more complainers than doers out there. Nice going, complainers. You've achieved the contentious gridlock in which you thrive.

Pathetic.

Let's go easy on Boehner... After all, the Republican plan has been out now for a couple of weeks...courtesy of Alan Grayson.

I don't think these boneheads know how to write a health care bill. I do know they had know intension of writing one, because they though the town hall brawlswere going to kill health reform. But that's backfired on them, and they know not how to form a health care bill. Some reforms they talk about comes from the Dems. and they president. Our country has been in a sad state with these fools in charged for eight years.

In breaking news today, the GOP announced that their new plan would be the same as the old plan. Which means no plan.

I can only pronounce this man's name as "bo_ner," which says a lot about his intellectual acumen. I MIGHT be able to say "Bay_ner" if anything he said came from his gray-matter brain (if he has one).

1. 1990 pages is a lot to read, BUT I assume they are all literate right? (not to mention they have a team of interns there for the sole purpose of reading this kind of thing for them.)
2. If they can't offer a plan... they clearly don't have one. (At least not one aimed at fixing Healthcare)

For Pete's Sake -- this is their job! I frequently have to read this much paper and analyze it - as do many people. It is their JOB to know what is in the bill and to offer something else or negotiate with the other side. It is not their job to go on talk shows and make inane comments or just to jet around their districts and raise money. Not only should their interns read it and write them memos about it, they should be reading it themselves and then having meetings with others to make sure they understand it. "wah, wha it's too long" -- WTF are they elected for?

The GOP Plan: Knock anything the DEMS/Obama Admin comes up with. Tell everyone how much it costs, which will scare everyone because everything is free. Tell everyone how bad bad bad it is and how it will not work. The GOP knows everything because they ended the Iraq war and saved us so much money through the years by preserving American jobs and protecting our country from an economic meltdown. Go tell it on the mountain, we have better ideas that no one else knows but us. It's a secret, but it will be revealed after we tell you how bad everything else is. Thank you very much for your attention.

Boehner's plan in a nutshell: " You just wait and see..we will tell you everything. We will have something, someday, somewhere, we'll find a new way of living. Just wait for it. It's coming soon. You'll see. Just wait another minute or two, and we will present a plan that will be presented for you and your family. Just one moment in time. We will have something for you shortly. Please be patience, we are working diligently on the problem and will solve it in due time. Thank you"

I can't help it. Every time I see this headline, even at a glance, mt first thought is "What GOP Health Care Plan?". My second thought is "How do you fumble air?".

Air fumble is a lot like air guitar, but lots less entertaining (and less musical too).

Isnt this healthcare bill like their budget bill, non-existent. Why are we paying these do nothing losers. If I was his constituent I would start a recall. This guy and his like minded minions do absolutely nothing. They couldnt care less about the people in this country as long as they get their paychecks for obstruction, lying and general nastiness. What an @$$ this guy is. I'm predicting that when it comes down to it none of these fools will get re-elected. The people in these districts want healthcare and their elected officials think its just a big joke. I'm hoping the jokes on them.
