Quoth the Ledger: "I am so pleased," Hutchison said on WBAP Radio in Dallas on Wednesday. "I respect the vice president so much. We've worked together. He knows my record as a conservative in the Senate."'

They left out the drippingly-sweet "Why Bless His Heart!" when initially given the news on-air.

They clearly missed her insincere tone in everything that followed.

Yah, Cheney knows Kay did not join her 50 male GOP colleagues in voting against a law to limit military contractors' use of binding arbitration in cases of sexual assault, battery and rape.

Trick or Treat, Kay.

Cheney endorsement? This ensures that Kay will get the vote of every cold-blooded reptile.

Makes perfect sense, around 1997 (iirc) when kay tried to prevent Battered and Abused Women clinics (cosponsoring an amendment when the gop was trying to kill funding for Public Radio) from being able to receive any Federal funding, she and cheney bonded then. They have been bestest buddies since. :)

Does anyone know how much Paylin will charge Gov. Goodhair for her endorsement?

"I respect the vice-president"..... these days, you may be the only one who does...

Hutchison running against Perry is just another case of Republican self-destruction. The office of governor in Texas is just not that big a deal and these two pieces of FURNITURE are going to squander their party's money running against each other. So Perry positions himself as more "mavericky conservative" and gets Palin's endorsement and Hutchison is more "establishment conservative" and gets Cheney's. Who cares about the difference between these two inert characters? But because they are the most famous politicians in the state, they'll spend millions.

Meanwhile... Hutchison leaves the senate and Houston mayor Bill White - a former Dem Party State Chairman and a real, effective campaigner and politician is left a clear path to the senate.

I'm a Dem and happy to see this, but if the G.O.P. had leadership, they would have taken Hutchison behind the woodshed and dispelled this foolishness of hers long ago. Blue is the only winner in this, it doesn't matter who wins....

I live in Texas. This former news reporter turned Senator has been in office a long time and will win the race. Why? I don't know. Most Texas who vote aren't very bright!

No, I'm sorry to say she won't. Texas conservatives are among the most rabid in the country.

Okay, here goes: Stop stereotyping us. Generalizations=prejudice. Texas is a purple state now and we are turning it blue in 2010. Can I get an amen?

Amen
All of the Texas urban centers and the Rio Grande Valley voted for Obama. Houston has had democratic mayors since the sixties with the exception of 2 years. We have had three liberal progressive mayors including Fred Hoffeinze, Kathy Whitmire and Bill White who you will get to know as the next senator from Texas (assuming KBH actually resigns).

Of the three credible candidates for mayor this fall, one is an African American man and one is a lesbian. All three are democrats and at least two are progressive

Hey there metro: Thanks for the great post. I wish there were two Bill Whites so he could run for governor as well. Fanned.
