Michael Lohan is out to prove that his ex-wife is covering up their daughter Lindsay's numerous addictions - and apparently, he has the phone tapes to prove it.

"Dina is saying that I'm lying - that Lindsay doesn't have a problem and that she's okay," Michael told us yesterday. "But I have proof that Dina has told me Lindsay is on death's doorstep, that she doesn't have much time left. There have been frantic calls. And I'm going to prove that Dina is the liar, not me."

I agree with that. I watched some of that show and it galled me that Dina would allow some rapper to come over and generally run the life of the younger daughter who was like 14 or 15 at the time. I mean, seriously. Irresponsible parenting. They can't even see the fact that many of these people preying on them are nothing more than gold-diggers who are looking for a free ride.

Lindsay needs to surround herself with the right friends and people who genuinely care about her, else all of this might in fact doom her at some point. I said it before when those 3 losers fed her drugs and encouraged her to get in that car chase, and then were so happy to run to the media with their story for their big payday. Everyone riding on the back of Lindsay, mooching and sponging off her. She needs real friends that care about her, not her fame or fortune or what she can do for them.

What I think these two selfish parents need to do is go to their daughter and be with her. They need to take her away from where she is, and focus all their attentions on her. Forget about their selfish, pathetic lives and do something for their daughter.

You can't force an adult to "get help." They should have stopped fighting long enough to get her help BEFORE she was an adult, but that probably would have involved a financial penalty on their parts, so they looked the other way.
