Palin

POLITICO:

A conservative Iowa group's effort to lure Sarah Palin to its banquet next month has had an unintended effect: Rather than exciting conservatives about the prospect of a visit from the former Alaska governor, the group's plan to raise a six-figure sum to bring her to the state has GOP activists recoiling at the thought of paying to land a politician's speaking appearance.

The Iowa Family Policy Center's effort to cobble together $100,000 for Palin would represent a striking departure from customary practice in the first-in-the-nation state, these Republicans say, noting that a generation of White House hopefuls has paid their own way to boost their party and presidential ambitions.

Well, now everyone knows what she is....all we're doing is haggling over the price.

The same could be said for any ho*oker on the street.

The fascination of Palin and offers of money to this airh*ad shows America is where id*ots can still make more money than intellectuals. The worst thing is that Palin is usually connected to the future presidency. She can be a shining star in the entertainment field but linking her to the presidency is a disservice to this great country. We should be the leader of the world , not some Banana Republics.

Could it be that they finally see Palin for the opportunist that she is? Palin First, not country first.

How is a charity to actually help anyone if they are paying 6 figures to some stupid speaker?

Guys...have you seen the Sarah speak?...I'm just saying, if she does a repeat of the Katie Couric interview, she should owe you $100,000.

Here in Iowa we like our Presidents to be smart and one thing we don’t like is someone who might get all mavericky with our country’s nuclear arsenal. Palin will be an epic failure in the Iowa primaries.

Well then, you could start at home. I have a great suggestion for a start....recall or at least refuse to re-elect your Senator Grassley. He hasn't done much for you average Iowans in quite a while.

The Politico article states that there is no evidence of a speaker's fee.

So why is Team Sarah busy raising $100,000 to ensure Palin speaks at the Iowa event?

I couldn't care less what she gets for a scripted speaking engagement.

I'm still waiting for a real, sit down, don't know what's coming, just answer the questions, interview.

THAT would be something to talk about.

i couldn't agree more.

i just thought it was funny that the article made a point of "clearing" Sarah. Yet, on the sidelines, her fan base is empting their piggy banks to pay the "phantom" speaking fee.

Yet the GOP keep defending this incoherent jabbajaw.

They don't defend her as much as they used to. They defend her only enough to satisfy their sheeple whom they think will carry them in the next election.

I think they mostly realize she's a phony. They'll just never admit it publicly.

They'd have a better time and learn more staying home and watching George Carlin stand-up on Youtube.
