James Kwambai of Kenya is set to compete in this Sunday's New York City Marathon. Kwambai has competed in 7 previous marathons, 2 of which he won.

Kwambai prefers road running over track and cross country. In 2002, he won the Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale, breaking the course record by over a minute.
