Jim Carrey Grows Beard, Gains Weight (PHOTOS)

Grandfather-to-be Jim Carrey is chunking up for his role as Curly in 'The Three Stooges' movie. He plans to gain 50 pounds and will probably wear a fat suit as well.

Here he is cutting (and eating) the ribbon at 'Disney's A Christmas Carol' train tour in NYC on Friday.

Poor Jim Carrey. He made his reputation being rubber-faced and idiotic. But instead of parlaying that into a respectible career, he still must continue to be rubber-faced and idiotic. It's his identity and his meal ticket - just like Robin Williams. The main reason he hasn't able to get out of this rut is that he has very bad judgement in choosing projects. To make matters even worse, he's become less and less funny. Now he's setting himself up for a major gaffe trying to impersonate the great Curly. Hang it up, Jim.
