Ron Artest of the Los Angeles Lakers has released a new song and video. "Afghan Women" is a four-minute ode that showcases the small forward's international interests.

Artest is no stranger to the world of music. In 2006 he released his first album, My World, and his jersey now sports the number 37 in honor of Michael Jackson's Thriller, which was No. 1 for 37 straight weeks.

OK Mr. Artest, 1st of all next time you wanna make a song speaking out about violence against women,
Lose the wife beater!

2nd, given the seriousness of the subject matter there's way too much of a "sex you up" vibe to the song. It's like he's a southpark character and this is all just a misguided scheme to score with low maintenance chicks.

And 3rd I cant imagine any afghan women ever hearing this song. EVER!
You might as well make a song dedicated to unicorns.

I am pleasantly surprised! I like this video.

I will purchase this music. It is mellow and has nice rhythmn.

Artest has a nice pitch to his singing. I like it.

At least he isn't talking about his necklace or his damn car. Ron seems like a pretty passionate guy. His wife is a regular looking lady and he plays his heart out year after year. If you like this you MUST listen to the Michael Jackson tribute he did.

I applaud the attempt. We need more attention brought to threat serious matters. Celebrities should do their part.

The tone of this song does not match it's subject matter.
