If Shep Smith had any guts at all he would leave that horrible "news" channel.
So, don't start upholding him and thinking he's one of the good guys.... he isn't!

Why are so many posters bringing up the documentary Outrage so much? I could care less if Shepard or Anderson or any other news anchor is gay. Do you want him to start the news by announcing he's gay? Do you want other anchors to come out as straight? Get a life.
Watch "Outrage"and I think you'll understand why it matters. I've got a life but people being denied their rights because of hatred and fear diminishes us as a free country. Shepard Smith is entitled to his privacy but I questioned why he would be part of an organization that seeks to manipulate public opinion against gay and lesbians.

I did see outrage and I could care less. I want to see the news and I don't care about an anchor's personal life or personal choices- sorry.
Smith is outed in the documentary "Outrage". You have to wonder how he really feels about being paid by people who don't accept or respect that equal rights apply to everyone.

Sorry Shep, the channel is not Fox Sometimes News or Fox Occasional News. It is Fox News. That would suggest that, at the least, a majority of the time, say 13 hours, is news. Not just the 2 hours you are on. And those 2 hours, whether or not they are news can be debated.
Boy, I'm glad that the wingnut posters from the Beast don't show up here (maybe they do under aliases). They make less sense than the pets we have here.
On another point, many posters there discussed Smith's alleged homosexuality. What is it with people's obsession with this? Any ideas?

As a New Orleans native, I came to respect Shep Smith during Katrina. His reports were factual and respectful. Something that's hard to do about black folks in the media and very mcuh appreicated by those of us needing to know what was happening to our loved ones living through that ordeal while unable to communicate with them. I've also compared his news reporting style to others on different networks. From the peanut gallery, where good reporting counts, Shep is good. I respect that. Especially since I find too much melodrama and not enough usable information for the intelligent, thinking viewer in our media.
Me too Heart! I thought Shepard and Anderson Cooper did a fantastic job covering Katrina. I have a lot of respect for both of them.
