What's Your Reaction?

David Letterman had his old friend Regis on last night and put him in a sticky situation. The two gents smacked each other in the face with very runny cream pies as a tribute to recently-deceased comedy icon Soupy Sales. It was the least action-filled pie fight we've ever seen.

This is incredibly sexist behavior on Letterman's part, and creates a hostile work environment.

I hope NOW steps in to protect Paul.

I always knew that this Letterman series of escapades would evolve into a whole can of worms. I grew up in Manhattan and just as an educated guess, all of this was about Dave sleeping with a bunch of girls in the office framed as a consensual format. It is starting to have the legs that all of these celebrity sex scandals have with the tabloids going along for the ride. Using sex as a weapon is bad for any person to try but unfortunately, ever since the Profumo scandal, when a politician or a celebrity makes the rounds and there are many actors in the play, money starts to be an overwhelming goal. For me, I watch Dave every night because I think he is a far better host or entertainer than the others. I do find him surly and arrogant at times and grumpy. Often he makes allusions to items that I find offensive. Dave again, for me is like that employee who has many bad habits but the firm keeps him because he is good at what he does. My advice to Dave is that should there be anything really heavy out there that is so far uncovered, run to those big time lawyers and get some advice on how to settle a big one legally. Read about the Profumo scandal, what the outcome suggests.

A sense of humor is a precious thing... unfortunately, you can't buy one or even rent one, you either have it or you don't... you don't if you can watch an homage to Soupy Sales and then launch into a diatribe about the Profumo scandal.

I haven't thought about Soupy Sales since I was a girl and now I'm remembering his laughter and my own as a pie found it's mark... thanks to Dave and Regis for bringing the memory back.

They were talking about Soupy Sales right before they had the pie fight. It was a tribute to him.
