LA Times:

At "Michael Jackson This Is It," moviegoers will not see the elaborate costumes created for the tour that never was, bedazzled with 4 million Swarovski crystals and lighted up using LED technology. Those are on display at the O2 Arena in London, where the tour had been scheduled to begin in July, and will go on to New York and Tokyo.

Seems like if there's an aspect of Michael to be turned into a profit, folks will milk it for all it's worth...

I was always fascinated with Michael's ability to put his fashions and costumes together. The clothes became an important part of his performances. They were unique to him. His flambuoyance in everyday wear was fun. I loved the sparkly gold pants he wore in his rehearsals and the red knit tights. With his slouchy looks, the fabrics moved with the grace of his body movements. Michael's body seemed to have near perfect symmetry. The length of his arms and legs and torso were in perfect proportion to each other. I'm no expert but I'm sure it contributed to the elegance and perfection in his dancing as well as his look. His vitiligo required that he cover his body and he managed to pull things off to the greatest advantage possible. He moved so gracefully that whatever he wore, it was acceptable and almost always eye-catching. I wish more men dressed like Michael.

what amazwd me about his stage outfits-- it was usually heavy and how he can still dance in them.. and carry it when he was so slight in built. Those doo-dads & sequins are so heavy.

as for THIS IS IT.. that jacket with peaked shoulders really annoyed me.. so distracting.. the one sequined lapel was ok idea.. but shoulders ruined it .

he wore a great deep red/burgundy leather jacket.. GUCCI? yummy.. suited him.

wasn't aware a "comeback" was in order...

he was always out there in his fashion choices..

love Balmain, one of my faves..(cant afford 'em, but i know it when i see it)...

the article mentions unfortunate choices" the patchwork pants he's rehearsing in by Audigier, i kind liked 'em.

i love all things Michael, so i would love to see the designs that were intended for the show...

those costumes sure look a lot better than some of the outfits he was wearing at rehearsals.. I found that jacket with the peaked shoulders.. so damn annoying & a distraction as MJ worked.. the wide lapels were ok.. sort of with one lapel with crystals.. but t hose shoulders.. accentuated MJ's already bony narrow shoulders.. Yikes! AWFUL!

ha.. ha.. I really had to let out-- it made his hands & head too big for his body..

and some of those drainpipe tight trousers/ pants.. he used to have a really cute bum..lol..but it just showed how truly skinny he was.. ( for true MJ hotness.. COME TOGETHER-- vid.. showed it)

as for those costumes. those must weigh tons.. to t hink.. MJ so thin.. will wear it.. and even dance in it.. WOW..

. . . haven't seen the movie (yet--I will later this week :o)--and didn't read the full article, BUT I just have to say: I very much admire and respect how the family dresses MJ's daughter, Paris. She's always dressed age appropriate, as are the boys--a rarity for the children of celebrities, frankly, in this day and age.
