Would you pay $30 a month to watch TV via iTunes?

That's the pitch Apple has been making to TV networks in recent weeks. The company is trying to round up support for a monthly subscription service that would deliver TV programs via its multimedia software, multiple sources tell me.

I would sign up without hesitation. I already own a Mac mini, which is connected to the TV, and I refuse to pay cable or satellite services more than they’re worth. If Apple introduces a reasonably priced TV subscriber service through iTunes, which I already use heavily for organizing my own media, I would be all for it. Cable companies are already losing customers to the Internet, and I think that the introduction of an online subscription service would supplement any loss of income that they may be experiencing as a result of lower ratings.

I would use this. Before dumping cable TV, I no longer used the regular channels anyway, only the "On Demand" selections. It's gotten to where I just don't watch anything I can't pause.

This is interesting but to make it work Apple needs to get or partner with someone who has Video on Demand. Downloading TV shows is a pain and even more so having to have gigabytes of memory to store and back them up.
