Russia would be stupid to invade Poland. Its true it could successfully invade initially, but Russia would have problems holding onto Polish territory since Poles are naturally good rebels. Also this time Germany will NOT be helping Russia invade Poland which Russia always needed historicallly.

Its NO accident that Poland was NEVER invaded by JUST Germany or JUST Russia. These countries ALWAYS needed each other's help in invading and holding down the Polish population. There is a good reason for this. Russia I'm sure is aware of this.

I believe Russia is also aware that an invasion of Poland would prompt decades of terrorism in major Russian cities by agitated Poles. Most peace loving Poles would go crazy if Russia invaded Poland again.

September 22 1938, " British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain meets with Adolf Hitler at Godesberg in the Rhineland. Hitler says the British-French proposal is not acceptable, that Hungary and Poland must also have their claims against Czechoslovakia settled."

Winston Churchill warns of the futility of appeasing Adolf Hitler: "The belief that security can be obtained by throwing a small state to the wolves is a fatal delusion.".

In this case the wolfs ( or rather jackals) were Germany, Poland and Hungary.
But not for long...

You forgot to mention that little chapter of the war in which Churchill, against all rational sanity, sailed the HMS Ark Royal Flotilla into the Gulf of Finland in order to attack Finland for daring to stand up and defend themselves against the invaded Russians, which for a time, left the UK completely vulnerable to any kind of naval attack and also hampered anti-submarine warfare activities.

If you are trying to cite Churchill as some kind of brilliant tactician, great leader or even someone noteworthy at all, you completely picked the wrong man for that job!!

He was a brash, big-mouth ego-hound that Ayn Rand wanted to marry. He was as incompetent a leader as he was a family man. The ONLY thing Churchill had that saved his butt, was the ability to be a smooth talker.

re."If you are trying to cite Churchill as some kind of brilliant tactician, great leader or even someone noteworthy at all, you completely picked the wrong man for that job!!"

To quote Churchill again:" You're a modest little person, with much to be modest about."
LOL.

Lemme guess your mausoleum of brilliant military heroes mostly consist of Ahmadineajd, Saladin, Al Husseini and Jimmuah Carter.

MosheDayan,

What about all those Leftist Jewish wolves and jackals through out Soviet Russia and Eastern Europe working with the Soviet Russians to destroy East Europeans ?

Stalin’s Jews

History lesson.

1.Jewish people, a highly intellectual literate and oppressed minority participated on all sides of revolutionary paradigm.
2.Probably more so on Men'shevik ( liberal) side, than the Bolshevik ( communist)
3.In fact, a Menshevik revolutionary woman, Fanya Kaplan, attempted to assassinate Lenin to prevent communist Bolsheviks from consolidating power in Russia. She failed.
4. Of course you would be happy to know that Stalin exiled and or executed most of the Jewish intellectuals in the party as soon as he could. Beginning with Trotsky on down.

Of course this is too much history and facts for those who pick their antisemitic canards on a cheap at some white supremacist or Jihadist website.

Lesson over.

This is much ado about nothing, to be bluntly honest. People would be very, very naive to think that nations all around the world do not have military plans to invade one another. Here all of you are, showing your mock outrage over this, while your own Pentagon has plans to fight you and enslave you in camps should the economy drive unrest into the streets.

This is no different than the US simulating invasions of North Korea and China every year during their annual Team Spirit military exercises. Sure, they play it off as trying to play defense, but it's not. Just like we have plans to invade India if certain conditions are met, or Iran, or Pakistan, or Malaysia, or Japan, or even Canada and Mexico.

What's more, a certain country in the Middle East confessed a few years ago that it not only had nuclear weapons, but that some of the capitols targeted for them were London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Stockholm, etc.

Where was the outrage then?

"We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force…. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under."

--Martin van Creveld, Professor of Military History, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel

In 2006 the US STate Department listed POLAND as number EIGHT for the worst place for minorities to travel -- It was the only WESTERN nation in the TOP TEN:

They defeinately have issues I lived there from 2006 until May of 2009.

" ... the maneouvres are thought to have been held in September ..." and the Poles are just learning about it now? Poor Poles!

Connecting the dots, credit Mr Obama and the United States for difusing a potential hot spot in the nick of time by scrapping the missile defense shield in that part of the world.

Some inconvenient 20th Century facts.
Poland invaded and occupied parts of Russia-Ukraine and Belarus.
Poles grabbed a part of Czechoslovakia in a deal with old Adolf. Sob..sob..
Poland owes an eternal debt of gratitude to heroic Soviet people. And yes, that includes Russians.
shhhhh....
I know, I know, too complicated fro Americans.

MosheDayan,

Here's another inconvenient truth.

Despite your prejudice against Poland, it was the only country that Jews CHOSE to live in for about a THOUSAND years, despite all the Jewish complaints of "Anti-Semitism' blah blah blah. The greatest number of Jews for the past ONE THOUSAND YEARS was in POLAND. GEE I wonder WHY??? WHY did Jews CHOOOOOSE to live in POLAND for ONE THOUSAND YEARS???

The great rabbi "Moses Isserles" said "if it were not for Poland, the existence of the tribe of Israel would have been UNBEARABLE".

Maybe you Jews should have all gone to Russia instead.

Reality is Obama is not an appeaser. He's a leader of a global military and economic empire. And acts accordingly. As he should.
Certainly, Obama is mostly clueless in foreign affairs, but no more than Bush, and O is learning 'poco a poco' as we musicians say.
Let's hope the learning curve is not too steep.

Moscow is resurgent? How is that? By playing war games in its own enclave, something every sovereign nation is allowed to do? All these "experts" claim Russia is resurgent, an "awakened bear", even though every economic and social indicator shows a country that is still crumbling and facing a demographic catastrophe if things don't improve. The military is still bloated and inefficient and can't even control its restive republics of Ingushetia and N. Ossetia. The stock market hasn't rebounded since last years near complete collapse and there's about half a trillion in unpaid debts that are due very soon. They're more dependent on oil and gas now than they were before the boom, and now thousands are being let go causing riots in cities everywhere. Not to mention they're floating the ruble again. Russia is hardly resurgent. Desparate is a better term.

Here's a fact that most Americans simply don't know. Because hay sold to American consumption presents Russians as Cold War relics, whereas U.S. and their E. European allies are stickily about peace.
Right, fine.
Fact: Biden negotiated with Poles to place "a small US base equipped with short-range missiles." This is a done deal.
"Simply put, our missile plan is better security for Nato and is better security for Poland." Biden

Russia and Belarus conducted their games following this announcement.

Time for Russians to do the same in Cuba and Venezuela.
