Meredith Vieira McDonald's Drive Through Prank On Today Show (VIDEO)

The Today Show introduced a new series this morning called "Today Show Gets A Laugh." In the first segment co-host Meredith Vieira donned the uniform of a McDonald's drive through attendant who was "less than accommodating."

While some customers appeared uncertain how to react, and others simply drove away rather than deal with the hassle, Vieira said the lesson she drew was how nice people could remain while she did her utmost to be obnoxious.

Your comment is so interesting because it seems like your knowledge of TV and McDonalds is very limited. This was done by Jerry Dunphy (a newscaster in LA) and Chick Hearn (LA Laker announcer) in 1982. It cause quite a stir because Jerry mentioned his previously employer (CBS) in a highly negative manner.

Mentioning your competition was unhead of in those days.

Welp, I was only 6 years old when Mr. Hearn did Dunphy did their bit, so my knowledge of teevee is a bit limited. I wonder if Meridith and the crew from the Today Show were copying Hearn or Letterman? Either way Meridith Vieira should stick to interviewing Kate Gosslin and leave the comedy to the professionals. Instead of giving airtime to a fast food chain NBC should instead show the dangers of eating at these places... Maybe they could show a before and after picture of Al Roker... Or wheel out 200 lbs of lard onto their set and drop it from the top of 30 Rock. Each of these scenarios would be much funnier/en­tertaining than that crap that was aired this morning.
