Bush, Clinton Debate At Radio City In February (UPDATE: Event Canceled)

Bush Clinton Debate

UPDATE: The debate between Bill Clinton and George W. Bush has been canceled "because the promoter overhyped it as a death-match faceoff between the men," according to the New York Post.

"This event ... was supposed to be a discussion between the two former presidents, and has been canceled because it was not being billed as such by an overeager promoter," a Clinton spokesman said.

Former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will go head to head in a debate at Radio City Music Hall next February, as part of a series pairing liberal and conservative thinkers called "Minds That Move The World."

The event takes place on February 25, 2010 -- anyone can suggest a question here.

The debate "will be formatted to allow for President Clinton and President Bush to each present their thoughts on a wide range of important current events and national issues through a moderated question and answer period during which the moderator can elicit information and insights into particularly pertinent topics of the day," according to a press release.

Tickets, which go on sale Sunday, range from $60 to $1,250.

Okay, here's my question:
Mr Clinton, in regard to the Monica Lewinsky affair, and Mr Bush, generally speaking, WHAT THE FU@K WERE YOU THINKING!?!?!?!?!
01:12 PM on 11/05/2009
A debate featuring a liberal and conservative thinker?

First, where's the liberal? Clinton is not a liberal.

Second, where the thinker? GWB is not a thinker.

You gotta admire the chutzpah of the promoters, clearly looking for an easy buck. Apparently they don't realize that Americans generally buy the package not the product.

So Clinton's now going to criticize Bush when he wouldn't do it while Bush was in office?

After the first 2 minutes what is Bush going to do with the rest of his allotted time?

Wonder who's handler squealed "Uncle" first?

G.W. would have made minced meat of Clinton. Much like what happened to Gore and Kerry. G.W. made both of them look rather silly

How refreshing!
A useless debate out of the way. Word of advice to Bill: Take some notes from Jimmy Carter - remain independent. Your increasing closeness to the Bush family clouds your moral judgement on critical issues that this nation expects you to weigh on. Most of which have Bush as source

Ha. They went to CIA school together. Why else was there major operation going through Arkansas and during his presidency he never went after Iran Contra?

You do realize that there was no "major operation" going through Ark. (a right wing fantasy like Whitewater), and that the Iran Contra affair took place during the Reagan Administration. Several people were prosecuted, and the ones who weren't let go on appeal were pardoned by Daddy Bush??

There wasn't much for Clinton or Bush Jr. to do on that one.

I did my best Knowitall to respond to you with well documented articles and facts that people have tried to suppress. If this information does not get out, it proves that America as a free country has passed on and has been left to malevolent forces. Thank you for your service to the American people by letting them have debate, HP.

I think this would have been a very interesting encounter...don't think they would have really gotten into it, since Bill has become a friend of the Bush family...but some of you blathering on about corporatcracy, the crimes of both of these men, blah, blah, blah...for one night we could have seen the styles of two very different men who, like it or not, America chose to be their Presidents...regardless of how one feels about either of them, and obviously some of you seem to go off on both, the historical import of this debate would have been quite significant...that being said, I could have scored this for Bill easily...but getting him to stop talking might have been a problem...I love you Bill, but you do love to hear the sound of your own voice LOL.

Too bad. I'm not a huge fan of Bill Clinton, but I was eagerly looking forward to him trampling George W.

You mean like Gore and Kerry trampling G.W.??

Yes, seeing how both of them beat Bush in an election that was either stolen by the Supreme Court ('00) or Diebold ('04).

Only one thing will save Junior: Turning states evidence against the Neo Cons

Otherwise he will suffer the word of history.
