Axelrod Fox News

White House senior adviser David Axelrod has given an interview to Fox News' Major Garrett, the latest sign that the administration is ramping down its feud with the cable news outlet.

Clips of Axelrod's interview will air on Fox News throughout the day as well as on "Special Report with Bret Baier" at 6PM and "The Fox Report" at 7PM.

The interview touched on topics including Afghanistan, health care, Iran, yesterday's election and the one year anniversary of the President's election to office. No word if the two also discussed the White House's feud with Fox.

Fox News executive Michael Clemente met at the White House with Press Secretary Robert Gibbs last week. Axelrod had coffee with Fox News chief Roger Ailes in September.

Axelrod told Bob Schieffer on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday that the White House isn't "at war with anyone."

"We're at war only with people who represent mistruths as truth," he said. "And that's true of any network whether it's FOX, CBS, or any other network. When errors of fact are stated or when opinion is offered as fact, we will challenge that. And that is -- that will be our policy going forward. And the American people deserve that. And we have to do that for the sake of the administration."

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe is set to appear on "On the Record" Thursday.

Gotta give Mr Axlerod some cudo's for swallowing his pride and an interview with FOX News after the marginalization thing blew up in his face.

It didn't blow up in his face at all.

He called Fox News what it is: a talk radio format on a cable network.

Even Fox News itself, as an organization, argued in a court of law that it can lie and distort because it is NOT a news channel.

So when the WH tried to ban FOX News from the press pool and the other outlets put up a stink that isn't what you would call blowing up in your face? Alright....whatever.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but

The WH or any of the administration NEVER said they wouldn't do interviews with FAUX News...they simply called them a conservative (or Republican arm) of the media.

SInce when does that translate to NO INTERVIEWS.

Never trust a network that sued in court to be able to lie on news broadcasts.
Zero journalistic integrity.

No need to be on Faux.

Shep Smith is reporting on the Fort Hood shootings with caution and integrity, being sure to get the facts right.

He should be fired immediately.

Just watched Greta Van Sustran completely savage this alleged culprits reputation into shreds. Claiming that what ever his gripe was he didn't have the right to murder 12 people.

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree that KNOWONE has the right to murder seemingly innocent people, it is equally and totally unacceptable that a "NEWS" presenter and someone who claims to be a lawyer should exercise such poor judgment in her condemnation of an ALLEGED offender.

Shall we dispense of the trial system and go straight to execution? Hell! let's just allow FAUX News to be judge, jury and executioners. We could save a fortune.

This is why FAUX News is lambasted by the left. With the exception of Shep Smith who appears to be measured in his commentary and presentation EVERYBODY else feels the need to inject their own personal sentiment into a legitimate NEWS story. Thereby stifling the possibility of ANY fair trial this ALLEGED offender could get.

AND THIS IS THE FREEDOM THEY CONTINUE TO CRY IS BEING ERODED BY OBAMA

I agree. I'm no fan of Fox News at all. Indeed, I despise it.

Did you get the humor of my post? I'm saying that Shep Smith is the ONLY journalist of integrity on that network. Thus, he clearly does not fit in on that network, and should be fired by Murdoch.

Hmmm... I agree with what you say, but I think you are choosing the worst example possible to illustrate your point. Someone going on a killing rampage like this, could bring out some fairly harsh rhetoric on many networks, regardless of journalistic ideals. Fox misrepresents and politicizes, far less inflammatory stories everyday. You're feeding the notion here, that the left likes to coddle criminals and terrorists, though I'm sure that's not your intention.

What?

Journalists were being cautious because they didn't yet have the facts. Now that they know more about, NO network is tip toeing around it at all.

You're a shoot first and ask questions later sort of person, eh?

When this assassin is found guilty and sentenced. then, and only then should we begin to savage this fruit cake. Until then we should indeed tip toe, because that is the system that soldiers are fighting to protect.

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

Because the views of conservatives do not, and never have, been able to stand up to scrutiny.

Like Goebbels said, "The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

Those words are etched into the hearts and souls of all conservatives. They're all about telling a lie big enough an long enough.

This whole election buzz has me rather mystified. I just don't see how it is in anyway a statement about Obama. I, too, think the two Dem additions to the House are the most important races. The New York congressional win for the Dems shouts a warning to the far right. A district that hasn't had a Democrat represent it since the 1800's now has one because the radical right sunk the Rebublican that would have won the race.
