Second City 50th Anniversary Show: Colbert, Carell Among Star Alumni Returning For Bash

Mark off Dec. 12 on your calendar. Now.

That's the day of Second City's much-anticipated 50th anniversary show "The Second City Alumni: One Night Only."

The venerable comedy troupe just released the line-up of performers, and it is star-studded enough to make you drop whatever you're doing and buy the $125 tickets as soon as they go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. (at 312-337-3992 and secondcity.com).

Who's in? Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Jeff Garlin and Jack McBrayer of "30 Rock" are just a few of the notable alumni set to return to Chicago and re-live the old times.

Here's the rest of the former Citizens expected: Scott Adsit, Jim Belushi, Danny Breen, Frank Caeti, Larry Joe Campbell, Dan Castellaneta, Kevin Dorff, Robin Duke, Brian Gallivan, Martin Garcia, Ian Gomez, Peter Grosz, Mike Hagerty, Isabella Hoffman, Bruce Jarchow, Fred Kaz, Tim Kazurinsky, Keegan Michael Key, Richard Kind, Robert Klein, David Koechner, Mina Kolb, Bob Martin, Jack McBrayer, Susan Messing, Colin Mochrie, Maribeth Monroe, Jane Morris, Bob Odenkirk, David Pasquesi, Harold Ramis, David Rasche, Horatio Sanz, Jim Staahl, Betty Thomas, Nia Vardalos, George Wendt and Fred Willard.

The show open to the general public starts at 7 p.m. Dec. 12, and it's sure to be sold out. Never fear, though, there's a weekend full of public events, including panels, movie screenings and shows in the club's smaller stages. Among the highlights are Colbert participating in a panel on "The Colbert Report" and a reunion of the famed SCTV cast featuring Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O'Hara, Harold Ramis, Martin Short and Dave Thomas.
