Tea Party

Mother Jones:

The tea partiers are launching the revolution. This week. But will anyone actually show up?

On Sunday, Rep. Michele Bachmann challenged viewers of Sean Hannity's Fox News show to join her last-ditch attempt to kill health care reform. The fiery Minnesota Republican plans to hold a press conference at "high noon" on Thursday. She urged Americans to flood the halls of Congress that day, find their elected officials, "look at the whites of their eyes and tell them, 'don't you dare take away my health care.'"

Wow there's a shocker.. Hopefully shows like the Daily Show and Colbert Report, which in their jest, actually show "real news" and the brainwashed of middle America see the crap spewed by them is all just fear mongering and misinformation. It's a shame...if they spent their money and time on actually trying to help this Country instead of only trying to expose their completely insane conspiracy theories.

Dear MoveOn member,
$3,578,117!

That's how much progressives pledged this week to fund primary challenges against any Democratic senator who blocks an up-or-down vote on health care reform with a public option.

It's a huge sum, and the clearest signal yet that any Democrat who helps Republicans filibuster health care reform will face an enormous backlash from the grassroots.

Here's another way to make sure conservatives think twice before joining with Republicans: Many of these senators hold coveted committee chairmanships that give them significant power within the Senate.

Our friends at Democracy for America have launched an open letter urging Senate Democrats to strip committee chairmanship from any Democrat who filibusters health care. Will you join in? Clicking below adds your name:

A republican kook I dealt with recently (she calls herself an "indpependent), constantly and consistently sent me propaganda about healthcare, and anything that came her way that criticized the president...including pictures of him as a monkey, hitler, osama. I would send her rhetorical information that disporved everything she sent me.

One day, she informed me that we can't be friends because I am "not patriotic and I hate America." I'm serious. She did everything and anything against this country's and the president's progress and she called me "unpatriotic"... I LOL'd... and simply answered: "ok"

One less nut in my life.

That can't be. The teabag bigots will not rest till they bring back THEIR America (you know, the one where a white man is Prez).
02:11 PM on 11/05/2009
Tea partyers, please do the patriotic thing. Do what's best for your country. Go drown yourselves in the ocean of your choice. But please, be considerate, do it somewhere far enough off shore so that the sharks and other sea life dispose of your remains so we need not be bothered with you.

Why? Is OK for someone to be disturbed the explosion of spending by the federal government?

When people have trouble with money, they have to cut back on spending such as eating in, rather than eating out. When business have trouble, they cut back on spending doing stuff like freeze (or cut) salaries, lay people off, cut products.

Why is it that only the federal government can do the opposite? They are just printing more and more money. More money has been spent by the federal government in 9 months of the Obama administration than the entire combined history of the federal government.

What about the damage to the value of the dollar? Damage to future generations to pay for it? etc?

Didn't distrub you when Bush did it..... why now? You weren't screaming bloody murder when 12 billion dollars was sent on wooden pallettes to the middle east and "disappeared"..... where were you then? Why weren't you worried about it then? Where was your tea bag then? In your mouth? How about the 700 billion spent on the war.... with the wrong country? Where were your concerns then?

I thought so.

There wasn't 'steam' to begin with. This was an astroturf movement from the beginning. These people were(are) being used to prop up corporate interests, period. To their credit, I believe some have figured that out and refuse to participate and make fools of themselves.

Where do you people get this? It's not real? It's people being hired by ?????

Were you there? have you been to a Tea Party? I have. I met people there that i hadn't seen in a long time. These are genuine people who are fed up with the spending and the government takeovers. Sure, Bush may have started it but Obama put it into high gear. And no, I don't have problem that Obama is black. Do you?

"Sure, Bush may have started it "

And the freaking tea-baggers had no problem with it then, nor with the trillion waste that is the Iraq war.

And now you people want to be taken seriously?

Go back to Beck and Rush they will tell you want you want to hear.

The tea party, a wholly owned subsidiary of lobbyists, Faux News and the MSM was over before it started. They are a narrow minority of the population elevated by breathless wall to wall press coverage. They shout and stamp their collective feet when they can't have their way. Much like your average 3 year old. The majority of Americans have grown tired of their immature act.

"... don't you dare take away my health care."

One simple question: Why is Bachmann leading people to believe their healthcare will be taken away?

f/article: As of Tuesday afternoon, the official tea party website indicated that only 25 patriots were on hand for "Operation House Call."

I don't know how these people think of themselves as patriots. Those who engaged in the real Boston Tea Party were the liberal progressives of the time. They wanted CHANGE.The consevatives supported the the staus quo...... King George III and were known as Tories. The modern tea baggers also want to maintain the status quo. Where do they get off as patriots?

They have critically studied Amerian history or the constitutiion. They rely for their educatiion on such scholars as Rush, Sarah and Mark Levin.

Tea Baggers are patriots. They want to return the country to the original values, the values that made America great. Individual liberty, responsibility, the right to life liberty and property and no one (not even the government) has the right to take that away.

And most importantly, not asking for government to take care of them.
