Brian Levin, J.D.: The Ft. Hood Massacre: A Lone-Wolf Jihad of One?
The horrific shooting at Fort Hood, allegedly by Nidal Malik Hasan, a disgruntled yet devout Army psychiatrist, puts the spotlight back on the lone-wolf offender who sits at the crossroads of crime, terrorism and mental distress.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of those touched by this senseless tragedy. As so oftern is the case, the act of violence accomplished NOTHING other than to destroy the lives of others.
God bless the police woman for stopping the carnage.
I agree, but doesn't 'men and women' cover all our bases?
Kinda', sorta'..But, I'm pretty sure that those 'men and women' covered on all our bases and subject to "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" would have a few thoughts about that!...
Dramatic photos? Where?
Over seas and in the house dealing with the same type of enemy in different dress. Even if we withdraw our troops , they are still here in our land. Then, what should we do ? It seems that whenever they feel upset they either shoot others or blow themselves up. What do we want to do with that?
It certainly seems like it must be difficult to have men with guns come, uninvited, into your world and kill your loved ones.
Sorry, but he signed up knowing full well that he could be deployed to a war zone at any given moment. I served for 5 years (7 months in Iraq). Did I want to go? No. But I wasn't going to go complain about it because I knew I could be sent into harms way. It's part of the job description no matter what your MOS is.
Seriously, can Muslims ever do something that has a positive PR spin? It's mentally tough on the rest of us to watch Muslims killing our people.
Yes.... we should weigh our national security concerns with the actions of a man who committed hypocritical atrocities in the name of the anti-war movement. I have a very close friend who is a devout Muslim and served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan on the front lines (not in a psychiatry office). He finds the actions of this man to be outrageous. This man could have served to help the men and women of our nation that serve selflessly in our armed service, but instead he took their lives. He did it after receiving nearly $500,000 in government paid medical school while at the same time getting paid a salary by the U.S. government. He received free medical care and a salary of over $100,000 a year. There is no excuse for this man's actions.
God bless our men and women in uniform. They go through so much ... and all VOLUNTEER to keep us safe. Heroes.
Who's keeping us safe, the men and women who travel to distant countries and kill third-world villagers? I don't think so. Thanks but no thanks.
The person that shot him should be getting all the press coverage.
Of the entrance sign?
Nothing like a good tragedy to bring people together and make life meaningful! That'll blow over soon with GOP Anti Obama rhetoric.
