What's Your Reaction?

On a recent trip to Egypt for talks with the Egyptian President, Foreign Minister, and Intelligence Chief, Hillary Clinton was spotted, as seen on Lauren Rosen's Politico blog, reading Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol on the plane.

Is it scary that she's reading Dan Brown? Should our Secretary of State be reading something more serious? Let us know what you think.

Quick Poll

Should Hillary be reading The Lost Symbol on the plane?

Yes, she can read whatever she wants.

Oh for heaven's sake -- let the woman read what she wants! That book, (Lost Symbol, I mean) has got some really interesting side journeys, by the way. One of the characters if fascinated by how human intention can affect the world. And it's not just something Dan Brown made up -- it's based on a real book, "The Intention Experiment (http://www.theintensionexperiment.com) by Lynne McTaggart. She's well-known with regards to the science of spirituality. The character in the book is fascinated by the idea of the power of group intention, while McTaggart worked with scientists to explore the power of mass thought. She even does online experiments with scientists around the world which I find very cool indeed.

Sounds like an excellent book for Hillary to be reading.

HuffPost is becoming too arrogant and cocky. It is constantly deleting unflattering comments in an attempt give a distorted image.

Everyone needs a way to relax. At least HRC isn't reading 'My Pet Goat.'

She is probably the brightest politician that has appeared in mt life time. From the photo it could be any of the people at the table reading it. The Clintons also liked Patricia Cornwall. There is a time to relax and a time to work. What a non-story.

What, it would be better if she read Huffington Post on her iPhone (HuffPost seems to always been on top of the very serious, up-to-date Jon and Kate Plus 8 news. Should they spend more time on stories that are more serious?) The Lost Symbol is a book that many, many people are reading right now (you can read all about it in the very serious New York Times Book Review). I don't much care for Dan Brown, but I certainly don't look down on people who do as "unserious." I'd be too afraid to fall from a perch that high.

Netanyahu gave Hillary the finger so now she's trying to figure out if there is a hidden message there.

It's not scary that the SoS is reading Dan Brown, but it is scary that she's SoS.

Yes it concerns me as an American to see the lack of diplomatic skill and the constant gaffes of SoS Clinton undermine the Obama administration's efforts to repair the damage done by the Bush years of arrogance in foreignn relations. She is so much more effective and popular when she is quiet and doing receptions.
