Girardi

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — Yankees manager Joe Girardi capped off a victorious evening by helping a car crash victim in suburban New York.

Police say Girardi pulled over to help after a woman lost control on a Westchester County parkway and crashed into a wall around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

That was just hours after Girardi's team claimed a World Series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Girardi tells WFAN-AM that he was "really concerned" because of damage to her car. He says he had his wife call 911, then approached the mangled vehicle.

The woman had only cuts, and police arrived minutes later.

Officer Kathleen Cristiano says that seeing Girardi at the accident scene later "was totally surreal."

A real Yankee. Reminds me of the time when Babe Ruth approached a crippled young little boy in a wheel chair. The little boy got up and walked.

Folklore?

No way!

This is not news to New Yorkers, when Superman is not in NYC the Yankees take up his slack.
Everyone knows that Yankees have super-powers, it comes from working so close to the Center of the Universe, Home plate at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees have won the Series, the universe will be in balance for the next year!!

Almost a month ago I hit black ice on an overpass and totaled my vehicle.
A woman and a truck driver stopped to help me. I have some injuries, but
I am slowly recovering. I am forever grateful to those people who stopped
to help as well as calling the ambulance. I am a Yankees fan and have been
for many many years. Thank you, Joe. Girardi. You are a class act in every
way.

Way to be a good human JOE .WELL DONE my man. Now make sure you re-sign MATSUI and PETTITTE... And give them both a raise!!! I mean, REALLY !!!

I agree! Take some money from Burnett, A-Rod, and Swisher and give it to Pettitte and Matsui!
I wonder if Giardi had the same stony face he has through all the games. I loved the way he grinned after winning since you can never tell what he is thinking by his expressions in the dugout.

As much as hurts, the Yankees need to walk away from both Matsui and Damon. I would only give Andy a one year deal if Wang can't make it back. The Yanks need to get younger and more athletic. If they keep Matsui or Damon, they will block Jorge from becoming the DH. They are locked into Jorge for two more years. Jorge is no longer a servicable catcher. It is time for Cervelli to take over. Steroids out of baseball will put a premium on ballplayers who can play D and run - small ball, pitching and defense will become the path to championships.
