Oprah

Deadline Hollywood Daily:

The industry has been betting that the daytime diva would extend The Oprah Winfrey Show for at least another year or two because of the huge cash license fees which stations have long paid her. But people around Oprah are telling me that won't happen. They say that Discovery Communications chief David Zaslav has demanded that Oprah "move it or lose it" -- move her talk show to OWN, or risk losing the Oprah Winfrey Network altogether. I've learned that in coming days Winfrey and Discovery will issue a press release announcing OWN's on-air launch for the start of 2011. And, in several weeks, Oprah will tell the public that she's ending her syndicated Chicago-based daytime talk show when her current deal runs out and moving it to OWN headquarters in Los Angeles probably as soon as mid-2011.

someone posted that oprah's ego has gotten to big for chicago
and needs to go to tinsletown and hang out with meaningless celebrities
wow whats with peopel atttacking celebrites
wow is that stereotype attack
really
one celebritis are called that by non famous people
and who makes them famous and attributes fame to them

i see them as entertainers
people whos craft and acting skills sure as heck has meaning
and has meaning to me

people who attack a stereotypical image is meaningless to me
and is more than judging a book by its cover

hmm as for tinsletown
not much tinsle in it
yeah i live here

bottom line
most poeple in los angeles are not "meaningless celebrities"
and even the "celebs" have meaning

what doesnt have meaning to me at all
are people who have no meaning by attacking someone
simply by repeating someone elses attack
and someone elses opinion

to me a person is meaningless
when they do nothing but repeat someones elses dislike

bottom line
you have your opinion
i have mine

and your opinion
is meaningless to me!!!!!!

ok are the chicago biased guys forgetting she has a a gorgeous estate in montecito,ca
yeah thats near santa barbara which is north of los angeles and she does spend time there when not in chicago, and calling LA la la land has gotten old, and not everyone in los angeles is skinny
hmm
bottom line
oprah can spend more time at home and actaully commute from montecito
so this chicago bias is dumb
also why are so many poeple treating this a new news
this is old news
i first hear about this months and months ago
if not last year
this is not breaking news at all
and not recent news either
at least not to me

That's too bad. I enjoy her show occasionally, but once she changes over, my house will never see it again. Oh well....

That interview is what she needs to save her. Ratings have fallen since she endorsed BO.

Actually not only does she remain the highest rated talk show in America, but her ratings are up this season by 39%:

Shame on you, JennyLynn! You lie!
Just because it is easy to invent "facts" on the internet doesn't mean you should do it.

Talkshow hosts making millions and billions of dollars is ridiculous. There seems to be something wrong with the whole system.

Most talk show host don't make anywhere near as much money as Oprah, but Oprah is a billionaire because she's the #1 talk show host in all of America & has been the #1 in such a competetive & improvisational field for a quarter century. The amount of entertainment she provides may only be worth a couple dollars a day, but when you multiply that by all the millions of people she entertains & all the years she's been entertaining them, it's perfectly fair for her to be a billionaire. People are worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them. That's the free market. And keep in mind that about 50% of all the hard earned money she's earned over the years has gone to taxes. Also keep in mind that she's given over $306 million to charity (more than any African American ever) according to Business Week & she's probably created thousands of jobs with her show, the shows she's launched, her magazine, radio station, movies & now cable network. An amazing lady indeed.

Yes, you heard it here!
Oprah is joining The Piece Corps, so she can get a bigger piece of the
corporate pie. Smart woman.

The same discussion was had the last several times her syndication contract was up for renegotiation and other cable networks were courting her with big bucks.
