Ever since a poll was released declaring "Whatever" the most annoying word in America, we here at HuffPost Comedy have been busy cataloging the Most Annoying Things in the Universe. So far we've hit music (Billy Ray Cyrus' "Achy Breaky Heart" was deemed most annoying song OF ALL TIME), TV characters (Screech) and on-screen romance (Jon & Kate Plus 8). This week: commercials. Bring it on!

The Snuggie

Hard to say which is most annoying -- this Snuggie commercial, the idea of a the Snuggie itself, or the fact that there are Snuggie pub-crawls. As this brilliant Snuggie parody commercial puts it: "Tired of using regular blankets like this asshole?... Well, now there's hope with the new WTF blanket-- the blanket that will ruin your sex life."

The Miracle Whip commercial would have possibilities if were meant as something humorous, as in a parody on modern culture. But it was meant to be SERIOUS! I find that most insulting and demeaning. Do they actually believe people are dumb enough to join the "miracle whip rebellion" ?

I have come to the conclusion that all marketers are brain damaged. Do they really think that turning up the volume to 120 db is going to make me buy their product? Do they think that being by stupid I'm going to be attracted to their product?

I have to say however that the burger king commercials are very disturbing. If I ever "woke up to the king" the king would earn a full magazine of .45+p hollow points in his chest!

Billy Mays retired the trophy for most annoying pitchman. Anything from freecredit­report.com hangs in there with "It's MY money and I want it NOW." Another that is as annoying as it is lengthy is the one where the guy sells you books on how to get free money from the government. I wear out my mute button and my channel changer buttons when any of these flea bitten canines produces pixels on my screen.

Billy Mays (anything and everything; no disrespect for his death, just can't stand the yelling)
National Car Rental (the MacEnroe yelling)
Cartoon boogers (mucous-gone, or whatever this crap is called)
Cartoon fungus (the toenail-healing crap)
Di-Tech
Geico (cave man, especially - the gecko is getting way too old - listening Warren Buffett?)
Vonage (they finally turned the volume down on the theme-noise, though)
Vehix.com (What's a hybrid?)
Vince (shamwow)
Head-on (gone because of Doonesbury)
A few PSA's:
Adopt a kid (Alex? - Alex-Alex?)
Autism (the fake statistics)
Save the starving and abused (children, animals, anything - way, way too sappy)
thatsnotcool.org (incessant cell phone beeps: wakey-wakey)
Dish network, Comcast, Roadrunner (all of them are just horrible)
Free credit report (FTC is annoyed at this misleading come-on)
Life-Lock (another FTC target - service is obviously a fraud)
Smilin' Bob (already charged and fined by the FTC)
Terror-mongering themes (OnStar car crashes, Brinks(Broadview) Security)
Anything that disparages others (why do they think it's funny?)
I don't need products for or care to hear about denture glue, irregularity, constipation, piles, bad breath, athlete's foot, restless legs, cramps, boils, etc....

There's a car dealership in central Florida called Bob Dance; they persist in putting their little daughter or granddaughter (don't know which) in their TV ads. The kid is neither cute nor charming but Grandpa has bought oodles of air time and there's no getting away from this kid! She comes on and my husband and I change the channel; she really is THAT annoying. Too bad I don't have a clip to prove it.

But here's a runner-up: A Bell Telephone commercial, circa 1978. Any commercial with "Feelings" as the soundtrack has GOT to suck:

That Quiznos commercial is just wrong. I felt my brain melting just listening to those godforsaken rats. Quiznos is pretty infamous for lousy commercials. One reason why I can't stand to eat there (it's too freaking expensive!) And the head on commercial is very clever as it gave millions of people headaches so people would have to go buy it. It should be used as a torture tactic at Guantanamo Bay

All these drug/pharm ads drive me crazy when they list a ton of HORRIBLE side effects but they show the people in the commercial so happy go luck when they are listing the horrible side effects. I thought it would be funny if you showed the actual side effects. I made a parody of these commercials. I would appreciate if you watched (its under 2 minutes). Thanks in advance!

I agree all but one of the commercials really suck and drive me nuts. Why is the Burger KIng so creepy; he looks like he is stalking someone.
I like the Carl's Jr. commercial; it certainly wouldn't cause me drop everything to buy a burger.
I watched the Carls' Jr commercial at least 10 or more times tonight.
I see, Padma Lakshmi, a beautiful intelligent sexy woman in a fabulous dress in the public market having a little tactile foreplay with spices until she goes all the way with her burger. Padma certainly released the pepper's pentup potential.
And unlike the barbie doll woman Paris Hilton; Padma moves with Sofia Loren sensuality through the commercial.
I substitued a little Barry White or Elaine Elias playing Girl from Ipanema for the soundtrack.
Whoa!
I feel like I need a smoke or at least a glass of Dom Perignon.

1. National Car rental with John McEnroe shouting (especially annoying in the morning)
2. Progressive Insurance with that annoying overperky woman
3. Joseph A. Banks - over the top announcer always giving away free men's clothes
4. Freecredit­report.com
5. Any Billy Mays commercial - there has been an upside to his unfortunate passing
6. Dish Network - goes on forever with the annoying computer percussion in the background.

These are the most annoying "of all time?" Are the peachfuzz interns at HuffPo completely unaware that television existed even before 1992? Almost all of these were from the past few years! And most of them aren't annoying at all! The Meow Mix isn't annoying, it's wonderful. The Carl's isn't annoying, it's incredibly sexy and made me want to get a burger right this very minute. I thought the Subaru one was cool.

No McDonald's ads? How can you make a list like this and leave out Mr. Whipple? "Where's the Beef?" "I'd like to teach the world to sing" etc etc etc.
