William Shatner Reads "Levi Johnston"'s Tweets (VIDEO)

UPDATE: Levi Johnston is demanding NBC retract this skit, claiming that Twitter page is NOT Levi's, but a fake meant to make Levi look like a racist idiot. Conan introduced the skit saying the tweets were real and they did not make them up.

Last July, William Shatner appeared on the "Tonight Show," turning Sarah Palin's oft-nutty tweets into poetry. Well, last night he returned to Conan's side (along with his beatnik band) to give the words of Levi "I'm Famous For Having Pre-Marital Sex" Johnston the same treatment.

PS -- We're pretty sure that our friends at Buzzfeed has something to do with inspiring this idea.

Shatner can make anything sound ridiculous...or ridiculously dramatic. His version of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is, uh.....amazing. Don't try to listen to the whole thing, it'll cause permanent damage. Come to think of it, just don't listen to it.....well, maybe just one verse.

How do you retract a skit? Didn't Carson always say "I'm not making this up?" Levi needs to realize that he, um, thrust himself into the spotlight - where one is often mocked - by knocking up the abstinent Christian daughter of an outspoken but underqualified politician and then deciding to pose nude for Playgirl.

This was very funny indeed. Shatner wrote his autobio, Up Till Now, which I must say is a first-class riot. He had me laughing repeatedly. It's a very good read, go check it out.

I love his style as an actor (some don't, they can get a life :o ), but a genius? Only if he invents a time machine and prevents that poorly scribbled 2009 product-placement reboot out of existence... best. double-irony. ever. :-D
