Come on. You can't expect her to sing and dance at the same time. Of course, as Kathy Griffin pointed out, it would be nice if she mixed up the songs from the cd -- I would have to take people's word on this since I have not listened to the album or attended a Brittney concert. But from what I hear some artists even record versions of their songs to "perform" live at the same time an album is cut. As for me, I am going to hear Leonard Cohen again on Friday - he might be an old guy but he does not lip sync.
What sort of maladroit person who has not been living in a developed english speaking nation does not know she lip-synchs?
Years ago Milli Vanilli was vilified for being a fake group but now its perfectly acceptable. What a sad reflection of society that the manufactured garbage Britney makes is considered music.
I completely agree with the RumerMills review on Circus, yes she does lip-synch and Britney is not 100% at her best but it is still a fabulous and thoroughly entertaining show.

Britney Spears is the best lip-syncher in the entertainment business! I love her and her lip-synching! No one goes to a Britney Spears concert for the amazing vocals. People go see Britney Spears in concert because she is the Queen of Pop! She is a performer! People should just be happy she is on tour! Fans know what to expect form her live, and they are NOT disappointed!
if you're dumb enough to shell out this kind of money for this kind of thing, then you deserve what you get. i don't think anybody, anymore, has any misconception that she actually sings.
the funny thing is that in any given town, you can more than likely find some good, live music for under twenty bucks.
Please... if you want to see some bimbo shake her stuff, go see Britney Spears, if you want to hear an awesome singer, go see Josh Groban. It's not rocket science, her fans know what they're paying for.
....the girl can't sing. She is a show.......she'll strip, she'll wear ANYTHING, she'll perform ANY gestures to get attention. She is like a manufactured beast, pumping out SOMETHING, it isn't music, in order to have fame and fortune. Is she back to her craziness again? She needs to go back to Mel Gibson who "helped" her during her breakdown, helped her with her Christianity. Seriously, she is a troubled person and has no talent or class. It has been sad watching her over the years.

I agree. These "artists" may, at one time, have had some talent, but they've stopped working on what they had and are now nothing but commodities to be mass marketed to audiences who are less discerning than in the past. Amazing things can be done in studio with computers and other audio electronics that mask singing deficiencies or even synthesize vocals that the singer themselves can not perform. Such is the business these days, yet so many are easily dupped into paying large sums to see a lip synched dance show. Such a pity!
How can that be a controversy. If you did not know she was doing that by now I got a financial transaction with a Nigerian dictator I like to get you in on!

I'm with the Aussies on this one, have been for a long time, ever since I went to a Christina Aguilera concert and later learned that she'd been lip-syncing. I don't pay top dollar to watch "singers" mouth a record like a drag queen in a gay bar. This is false advertising. Britney may be appearing "live" but she's not singing "live." The reason they do this is simple: lack of talent. Broadway stars appear onstage eight times a week and sing live every performance. (Hello Kristen Chenoweth, Edina Menzel, Patti LuPone, and the rest of the real Broadway singers.) While everyone else was singing live at last year's Oscars, Beyonce was lip-syncing. Why? Because she lacked the talent and confidence to go live. Take the Britney and Christina and the Beyonce's out of the studio and take away the autotuner and you're left with women who can't carry a tune in a paper bag.

Like most, when I was in college (early '70's) I could study/read with anything on the stereo - until my roomie put Roberta Flack on. I literally put aside what I was doing just to listen to that glorious voice. It was her "First Take" album. I still treasure it. I just may have to go and put it on....;-)
Ditto that. I thought the same thing recently when I dusted off my old copy of Hearts "Dreamboat Annie". Is there any rock chic in the last 3 decades that can touch that?
Beyonce and Christina can both sing very well live. they sometimes lip synch, but they can really sing.
