Media Matters:

Right-wing media figures have used the shooting at Fort Hood as an excuse to attack Islam and American Muslims in particular, with Debbie Schlussel, for example, urging readers to think of the alleged shooter "whenever you hear about how Muslims serve their country in the U.S. military." Additionally, commentators have blamed the shooting on "political correctness," with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade suggesting the implementation of "special debriefings" for Muslim American soldiers to prevent future attacks.

Ok Where was the tag line Devout Christian shoots Dr Tilman in church , Devout Catholic shoots 8 in Orlando , Devout Catholic Priest didles Alterboys for 20 years while Devout Archbiship denys and hides it all. Where are the claims that a christian is devout when he comits a crime , when what that Major did would be just as great a crime under Islam as it is under christianity. How do christians feel when People of another faith "define " their beliefs and automaticly equate it with evil, without any real knowledge of Christiaity. But all you have to hear is Islam and you turn back to the old tales of the Catholic Church in early part of the last millenium. How do you feel when a christian commits a horrendus act and why dont you equate it to his religion, you have plenty of examples . In america true PC is to automaticly assume that the right winger knows what he's talkin about , you know like the WMD's in Iraq . I am American for all of my 55 years and muslim for 6 years . I am muslim because I DID INVESTIGATE ON MY OWN. Why dont you get off of your lazy butt and do the same , look at it with your own eyes

If Al Qaeda wanted to destroy the America we know and love .......

And what private universe are you living in that no one mentioned the religion of the priests or the Church involved in all those molestations cases?

Funny you should mention that in the context of trying to defend the GOP:

http://www.armchairsubversive.org

See a similar pattern here of aiding, abetting, and enabling child sex predators in the ranks of the elite? That's the problem with authoritarianism, Jake; it is quick on the vocal moralizing and piously claiming divine sanction to cover up the most despicable of deeds committed by the group's privileged elites, and all for the sake of the most nihilistic of agendas.

So following that logic, we should condemn ALL Christians because of McVeigh at Oklahoma City.

And we should double-secret condemn all Christians for all their murderous attacks on reproductive clinics, right?

That's a thought I'm sure you wont hear articulated on Fox.

Once again for thje mental HuffPo midgets:
McVeigh:
1) Was not a practicing Xtian.
2) Was not a member of any Xtian terrorist group or have any contacts with them, unlike Nidal who contacted Al Qaeda.
3) Did not wear religious garb and shout "Allah Akubar", or the English equivalent when he murdered all those people, unlike this musselman terrorist you are abetting.

Been to India lately? When's the last time you watched a full-blown religious riot launched against Indian Muslims by Hindus?

Know anything about the history of religious violence between Hindus and Muslims? About *why* Pakistan exists in the first place, Jake?

BTW, Buddhists are not immune from committing acts of violence; try actually cracking some books on the history of the religion in all of its many forms, then get back to us.

In fact, let me throw you a bone; go research religious violence in Sri Lanka. It cuts in all directions, Jake, the moment someone conflates nationalism, racial prejudice, cultural prejudice, or religious intolerance with religious piety.

According to Article I of the "Rehat Maryada" (the Sikh code of conduct and conventions), a Sikh is defined as "any human being who faithfully believes in One Immortal Being; ten Gurus, from Guru Nanak Dev to Sri Guru Gobind Singh; the Sri Guru Granth Sahib; the utterances and teachings of the ten Gurus and the baptism bequeathed by the tenth Guru; and who does not owe allegiance to any other religion". The most common symbol of all Sikhs, because of its simplicity, is uncut hair (including beards for men) and turbans.

And

Hinduism is the complex of beliefs, values, and customs comprising the dominant religion of India, characterized by the worship of many gods, including Brahma as supreme being, a caste system, belief in reincarnation, etc.

And, finally

Buddhism is a religious teaching propagated by the Buddha and his followers, which declares that by destroying greed, hatred, and delusion, which are the causes of all suffering, man can attain perfect enlightenment

Michelle Maliciouskin should be looked at since she's asian. You know those asians are anti-american since we bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and we had internment camps for asian during ww2.

Maybe we should look at her a little more closesly.

As for that Brian Kilmeade, how did this deutsch bag get a job on tv?

A lot of non Japanese Asians were locked up during the internment as well since most white Americans back then and now are too dense to tell the difference.

Which is ironic considering Ms. Malkin's egregious attempts at *historical revisionism* and trying to excuse the internment of Americans of Japanese descent during WW2, as well as her unmistakable love affair with authoritarianism.

I come from a Jewish background and I am proud to count many Arabs, including Palestinians as good friends. We do not agree on every issue, often we disagree when it comes to the State of Israel but they are good and decent people. As my auto mechanic, a Palestinian, has said many times, he came to this country to get away from this sort of madness and raise his family in safety. I have read the Qu'aran and it is not a book filled with hate and has less bloodshed in it than the Bible does.

It is wrong to blame all Arabs and indeed all Muslims, for the actions of an extremist just as it is wrong to blame all Christians for the actions of a Christian extremist who murders doctors or blows up clinics.

"akira-san,"

your reasoning here is akin to a person declaring that the only thing one needs to know about the entire history of Germany and its people is to read Mein Kampf.

This man is a heretical quack who like his fellow heretical quacks deliberately cuts out entire passages of the Holy Quran to justify their authoritarian political agenda and the bloody misdeeds of their followers. They no more represent the majority of the millions of honest, peaceful Muslims living today, than the murderer of Dr. George Tiller represents all Protestants, let alone all Christians including myself.

God pity you, in your willful ignorance and blind prejudice.
