Sex Toy

DURHAM, N.C. — A campus religious leader is unhappy about a study at Duke University that invites female students to attend parties where they can buy sex toys.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Friday that the director of the Duke Catholic Center has lodged a complaint with researchers. The Rev. Joe Vetter says the study doesn't promote relationships.

The study asks female students over age 18 to attend the events that are similar to Tupperware parties but with erotic toys, lingerie and games. The women complete surveys about their sexual attitudes before and after the parties and get product discounts.

A spokesman for Duke said the sex-toy party project went through the peer review process. Vetter says he plans to discuss the topic at Sunday mass.

I guess the Catholick Church would prefer you to take matters into your own hands.

Well, it wouldn't be a scientific study if they hadn't.

Please, let's get the language straightened out. Its not a "religious" group. Its in anti-sex group. Although since the group also claims to be Catholic, it might just be a pro-sex group, but in an entirely age-inappropriate way.

I think religious whiners/complainers/screechers are a bunch of masterbleaters.

I really, really want to know what an elderly ex-Nahtzee dressed like a chess piece and wearing ruby slippers (not that there's anything wrong with that) thinks about this....Not.

first they want in on dictating healthcare reform by telling a woman what they can do with their body....now this!....oh dear god....everyone's entitled to their opinion but when is the Catholic church going to realize that they are not the entire universe....why is it ALWAYS the (male) priests telling a woman what they can do .....let's hear from Sisters

How did Christians ever start confusing religion and sex?

The female students are over 18 years of age. Get that, Rev. Vetter?

Geesh! The religious leaders don't want women to have sex with men or women AND they don't want them to masturbate. They like it a lot if they can get young women to pledge not to do ANYTHING before they marry and after they're married they want them to do as they're told. What exactly is so different about the religious right and the Taliban's approach to women? Both groups want to totally control a woman's sexuality because they believe that women aren't capable of making their own sexual decisions. The campus religious leader would make better use of his time if he dealt with his own body and left others to deal with their own bodies. Jesus never tried to force anyone to do anything. He only presented choices and left people their god given right of free choice. Why would anyone think that Jesus would be pleased to have his followers violating that basic truth that Christ taught by example?

They want to make anything and everything related to sex into something dirty. That makes it more exciting when they break the rules themselves-----as in, give me a little spankypoo because I'm such a naughtynaughty boy who likes wickedwicked things.
