A maintenance worker found the body of Gabriel Contreras, 21, of Palo Alto after lifting part of the cover from the swimming pool at Hoover Park. The worker was investigating neighbors' complaints of a foul smell in the area.

Man there is a story close to home.

Snuck into a indoor outdoor pool with a plastic cover to go skinny dipping during a rather wild party.

I dove into the covered end of the pool. And because the water was only 3 feet deep stood up. Or rather tried to stand up.

The pool cover would not budge. The suction kept it on the surface of the water. It was only through a second effort and the fact I was near to the edge that I managed to break the suction.

Or I could very easily ended up just like this young man.

This sounds like a murder. July...Cal­ifornia...­sun and warm weather...should have been smelling a long time ago.

This body was dumped within the last couple of weeks.
