What's Your Reaction?
Tom Cruise

nydailynews.com:

Did Tom Cruise offer to personally "beat the living [bleep]" out of disobedient Scientologists?

Cruise's lawyer and church spokesmen vigorously dispute the claim, but a former high-ranking Scientologist official says he "documented" that church leader David Miscavige once asserted that Cruise would lend his "Top Gun" muscle to do just that.

All religions are cults.

If you are in a religion and can't tolerate others than you don't know the true nature of the creator.

Religions that kill aren't truly religions, they are gangs using religion and mind control to gain power/money.

will you have to dig your own ditch so you can stand in it while he beats you? i believe that's how they shot Top Gun, with Kelly McGillis walking in trenches next to him so she wouldn't loom over him...

If you are a Scientologist in Sea Org and you are tired of all the bullcrap and are wanting to leave, you will most likely need some help as they don't pay very well and you most likely don't have a vehicle or credit card.
Bear in mind, if you DO have a credit card, OSA has all the information and if you use the credit card to get an travel ticket or hotel room, hell if you use it at all, they will be able to track you. Call the number below before making any plans. They will be able to help you make your escape as easy and painless as possible.

http://www.exseaorg.com/
or call In USA and Canada Call toll free 1-866-XSEAORG .

That's 1 866- 973-2674 This is a good number to call to hook up with old friends or find a place to stay if you're just out..

In UK (London) call 0208 864 4940.

The St Petersburg Times has written up an expose about leaving the church entitled
"Chased by their church: When you try to leave Scientology, they try to bring you back"

It is quite an interesting read and may help you understand what you will be up against.

Mike Rinder blew, you can too

If this is true (not a joke or sarcasm) then I am truly sorry for these people who got involved with this 'cult'. What a sad state of affairs this world is in if this so-called 'religion' can prey on it's members at will and destroy them should they wish to leave. Very, very scary...

I watched an expose on Scientology in Britain where a newswoman attempted to join up and was told to write down on paper all of her sex partners, what kind of sex she had had, anything that would be considered sexually aberrent , any crimes she had ever done, etc. When she asked why they wanted to know these things she was told it was so they could help her "get clear". The confession was then taken away from her. Can you imagine how powerful a written statement by someone, anyone, could be turned against them if an organization wanted to hurt that person?
Any "religion" that uses confidential confessions as a means of keeping a member silent should have it's tax exempt license removed and the leaders incarcerated for blackmail.
I watched Mr. Cruise's interview about Scientology. Even though I listened quite carefully he said nothing. He commented about bettering the planet and doing something(s) about it, never specifying what. Everything he said was vague accompanied by lots of laughter. I, on the other hand, was very uneasy with his "glibness". He talked about "doing things" and making the world a better place and not being a spectator walking past an accident but taking "control" (key word here) of the situation but, seriously, besides continually saving the world in his ridiculous movies, WHAT HAS HE EVER DONE THAT WE, THE PUBLIC, KNOW ABOUT that has "bettered the world"??

He tried to better the world by claiming to be able to cure NY firefighters from the things they inhaled during rescue ops during 9/11.

From Fox News:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,266967,00.html#1
Tom Cruise comes to New York on Thursday night, hoping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Scientology. He’s doing it under the guise of a detox program for members of the New York Fire Department who participated in the 9/11 clean-up.

There’s only problem: No one from the hierarchy of the FDNY endorses this program. The people I’ve talked to are furious with Cruise, and want the rank and file of firemen in New York to stay away from it.

Indeed, what I’m hearing are stories of firemen who accepted free treatment, only to be swallowed into Scientology. And while tonight’s event is billed as a “fundraiser,” I’m also told that firemen and their families aren’t paying for their own tickets.

The detox program is nothing new, either, say critics of Scientology. It’s just the group’s program called Purification Rundown. The course has been around a long time and has no scientific or medicinal value that can be proven by any physicians other than Scientologists.

Outspoken actor Tom Cruise has been criticized by firefighters suffering the effects of smoke inhalation from the World Trade Center terrorist attacks for his controversial views on their treatment.

The Scientology devotee has urged emergency services victims to give up their medication and inhalers as part of a 'purification rundown,’ which favors sauna sessions, ingestion of cooking oil and large doses of niacin as cures instead.

As co-founder of the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project, Cruise has also supported a new Scientology clinic preaching these remedies near the Ground Zero site.

But the unorthodox therapy has been slammed as ridiculous and potentially harmful by members of the medical profession, as well as sufferers themselves.

That's exactly how you know there's truth to this item. Everything they do is a drill or a cycle or a rundown, or something like that. It's their lingo, for sure.

Yep, they carefully script and choreograph their celebrity visits. They even planted a field of flowers so Tom and Nichole could walk through it.

Their entire cachet (such as it is) is based around clutching tightly onto celebrities. Even one of their downtown LA "churches" is formally called the "celebrity centre"
