I hope that Bill Thompson hasn't gotten the hare-brained notion that because he LOST in his race to be Mayor of New York that he's therefore in line to displace our Democratic Senator.
That's not going to happen. People in New York City need to quit breathing their own hot air.

I will vote for Thompson over Gillebrand.

In fact, I would vote for anyone (except Giuliani) over Gillebrand. She does not represent what new york stands for, and I want her out of here.

How can you have an opinion about somebody whose name you can't even spell?

This is why i love politics because now we have to wonder how Sr Chucky Schumer going to feel about this one. Who does he supports now if this is true. And we'll find out if Chucky really supported Thompson for Mayor in the first place. Because Chucky knows it wouldn't look good if he support Bloomy as the chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

If Schumer supported Thompson for mayor -- and Schumer's support was quite conspicuously lukewarm -- it doesn't follow that he would support Thompson for Senator, especially against a Democratic incumbent.

Bear in mind we wouldn't be reading this story were it not for Mayor Mike a) overturning term limits voted in TWICE by the electorate, and b) pumping more of his personal wealth into the campaign than ANY citizen for ANY office EVER.

Would a Mayor Thompson run for Senate?

Better, will the anti-democracy oligarch Mayor Mike be running for office even higher?

Good point. If it weren't for the Billionaire Backlash, no one would have taken such an astoundingly uninspiring candidate seriously.
