What's Your Reaction?

Things got a little personal for CNN anchors Wolf Blitzer and Jessica Yellin during a report about Congressman Barney Frank partner's bust for possession of marijuana in 2007. Frank denies that he knew the marijuana plant was in the house; indeed he wouldn't have recognized it because he's not 'an outdoorsy type.'

Yellin was skeptical and asked Blitzer if he would know what a marijuana plant looks like. Blitzer replies, "I'm not sure I would know. I could smell it. I know what it would smell like. But I'm not sure . . . let's check in with Lou Dobbs."

Luckily Blitzer tossed it Dobbs right as Yellin was asking him how he knows what it smells like. Dobbs notes to them, "You got out of that just in time to save both your careers."

This is how I believe that Wolf Blitzer interpreted Jessica Yelin's question, as it was associated with Barney Frank's recognition of the plant in a growing state: That Wolf would not know what it looked like or how it smelled in its natural state while growing. I think he meant he knew what it smelled like while it was being smoked. By now, I believe most people know what it smells like in its smoke.

I believe that many people, even today, would not recognize it while walking through a forest, for example. And, they would not notice or know any perfume being emitted by the plant in its natural state.

These two conditions are mutually exclusive. One may be knowledgable of one condition, ignorant of the other.

You don't have to smoke pot to see a TIckleMe Plant MOVE when you Tickle It.
I am growing several TickleMe Plants in my house and it's the only plant
that makes everyone smile - without having to smoke it. They love watching
the leaves fold up when Tickled. Even the branches move when you tickle It
with your hands. This is the best holiday gift .
I found the greenhouse to grow your own at http://www.ticklemeplant.com
See the video and try not to smile. Teach your kids to enjoy nature not drugs

Loud Dobb's statement corresponds with the real truth of the matter: using it is far less dangerous than being caught with it.

"...just in time to save both your careers."

Really? How ridiculous.
These white-nosed alcohol-soaked talking heads really think a discussion about pot is going to net them a pink slip? Give me a break.

Let's keep track of crime in those areas that relax the laws about pot. Does it go up? If not, the prohibition is useless.

Its every stoners dream who has ever been to amsterdam to land some kind of paying job there. Not me. I like my visits but would miss the grandkids to much.

I do assume you meant KLM the Dutch Airline and not Lufthansa the German one?

But your point is well taken.

A lot of noise about nothing. Willie Nelson, George Carlin, and Bill Maher have all been very open about their pot use. I believe Willie was arrested for it once. Pot should have been legalized a long time ago. The taxes collected from the sales would certainly help make life in America better for all of us.

Tommy Chong went to jail...for selling bongs. Actually, it was his son's business but Tommy took the fall in a plea deal that spared his wife and son any jail time.

It was really important to the DOJ to get Chong...but not before Dubya could score another new Nice Dreams bong for the Oval Office.

Here is a tip for all the potheads who want their weed to be legal. Promote responsible cannabis use instead of making outrageous claims about its medical uses, encouraging teenagers to smoke their brains out, and loudly criticizing people who don't agree with you. Go to the NORML website, read their guidelines for responsible cannabis use, and then follow their recommendations.

Cannabis has legitimate medical uses. Many of the claims, such as marijuana cures depression, autism, etc. are false. Here's a real link:

http://www.csdp.org/kz/mmj.htm

I have been doing research on this subject since 1975 and have been a test participant on several occasions. I am an advocate of reforming marijuana laws but this needs to be done the right way.
I will state again - Do not make claims about medical marijuana that are not true if you want to make any progress in reforming marijuana laws. People need to be responsible with any drug use and people under 21 have no business abusing alcohol or cannabis. If you want to be taken seriously, make a decent argument and check your posts for spelling and grammatical errors. You won't change people's minds unless you stick to the facts instead of going with opinions. Also, don't be so paranoid.

Barney Frank is someone unfortunately used to having sordid things growing in his closets.
