Jeff Zucker To Run Comcast-NBC Universal Joint Venture: Reuters

Comcast Corp (CMCSA.O) and General Electric Co (GE.N) have agreed to make NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker the head of their proposed joint venture, but the structure of a new board is still being negotiated, sources familiar with the matter said.

This cannot be allowed to happen. The first thing they would do is cancel Ed, Keith and Rachel. And they would have nowhere to go except maybe a more obscure digital (pay) channel, maybe Al Gore's channel or the Logo channel. Or internet only, and guess what? Comcast effectively controls that, too, at least for their subscribers.

I agree this should not be allowed to happen. Conservative talk dominates on the radio, and now we are going to have Murdock and Roberts (with Zucker as the bobble head) dominating the tv airwaves. We all should be contacting our congresspersons and senators about keeping
the airwaves (owned by the American people) "fair and balanced" for real! I am very worried about
the influence of conservative corporate faux news.

MSNBC makes a profit for NBC Universal; they're all going nowhere. It's NBC itself, that is hemorrhaging money. If Olbermann, Maddow and Schultz were not making money for the company, they would have been gone years ago in Olbermann's case or never hired in the case of the other two.

Zucker has been a complete failure since he's been in charge. Just because he got the bright idea to put live concerts on the Today show, that qualifies him to run a whole network?

I love this deal! I have Comcast and I watch NBC, MSNBC ,CNBC. Let's Roll! Now I want FAUX NEEWS to disappear from my cable, let's put them in a premium channel slot so that the trolls have to pay extra to watch them, that is what I have to do with MSNBC.

I'm nervous about this deal. I have Charter and I'm worried that they'll take MSNBC from me or charge me a ridiculous price since my cable provider is the "comptition". I already pay for digital extended basic to have it (along ESPN2 and a few others).

I have to pay extra now for MSNBC, Faux neews, CNN,HLNEWS,CNBD are all in the lower basic cable programing 33,35,36,37 and MSNBC is 185 so if I want to watch them I have to pay for premium channels which I don't really watch much, it's not fare. All the cable news channels should be basic cable.

This deal is anti-competitive. Cable service in many communities in monopolized by a single provider. Where competition does exist, it is usually nascent (I don't consider satellite to be competition in urban metropolitan areas). If a cable provider also owns the content, they will be driven to hoard that content for a competitive advantage over the other.

This deal must not be approved!
