On her Fine Living Network show "Whatever, Martha!" Martha Stewart's daughter Alexis mocks her mom for her craftiness and perfectionism. But is she becoming her? At Tuesday night's MARTHA STEWART Center for Living at Mt. Sinai 2nd Annual Gala in New York, 44-year-old Alexis bore a striking resemblance to her 68-year-old mother (see the final slide below).

Below, see the evolution of Alexis Stewart and decide just how closely she resembles Martha:

I know I'm shocked that a daughter could have a striking likeness to her mother. Who'd have thunk it?

OH MY GOD!

I spent many years telling myself "I'll NEVER be like my mother!" Then guess what happened? One day I realized that, despite every attempt to do things differently for many years ... I BECAME my mother!

It's nothing I ever wanted - it just happens. Now today, I can proudly state that I am my mother's daughter! :-)

And the point being? Many kids take after their parents.... they could also just have the same fashion taste.

Guess I am the Lone Ranger here, but I enjoy Alexis' wry comments about her mom. Yes, Martha is the creative one, who is tirelessly working, but Alexis gets to poke fun at her in ways that are not really too mean. She can see when & where her mom is over-reaching herself, but that's part of Martha's success too, encouraging others about her enthusiasms. I think Alexis really enjoys her mom's enthusiasms, but it must have been harder at 15 yrs.

The great delusion of youth is that they all feel smug that they are smart enough to be young. Unlike their MOTHER, who was really lax and let age catch up.

The female drama. It must be horrible to look in the mirror and see your mother if you have nothing but contempt for your mother. There's a lot of that on this thread. Stewart's daughter obviously admires her mother. I wish that for the rest of you.

It is fact that all daughters become their mother. It just happens. One day she looks in the mirror and her mother is staring back at her. So it happens to the rich and famous, too?

Why not look the part? (wring hands slowly) One day the empire will be hers ... all hers!

It is easier to dye gray hair blond than it is to dye it brown. What is the big deal?

(Yes. Every woman in Paris of a "certain age" has hair just like this.)
