Oprah viewers were stunned Wednesday to see the face of Charla Nash, a 56-year-old woman whose face was mauled by a friend's chimpanzee in February. Nash has spent the last nine months in a Cleveland clinic, where she's gone through extensive reconstructive surgery.

According to ABC News, the monkey ripped off Nash's upper jaw and nose, and doctors had to remove her eyes. A piece of her leg is currently attached to her face, and it's still unclear if Nash is a potential candidate for a face transplant.

As a website set up to benefit Nash mentions, she has a long and difficult road to recovery, not just in restoring potential facial functions, but also providing for her care. Concerned parties are encouraged to donate to The Charla Nash Fund either through mail or online.

Nash's friends and family have also set up a website to share stories and offer encouragement to Charla. Visit www.friendsofcharlienash.com to receive updates on her health, care and life adjustments as she works toward recovery.
