ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A California publicist and two co-authors have terminated a book deal with a former aide of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

San Diego-based Releve Marketing and PR announced Tuesday it will no longer represent or co-author Frank Bailey's upcoming book "Renegade: Sarah Palin's Hatchet Man."

Christiana Grace, company co-owner and one of the co-authors, says she can't elaborate on the reasons for the termination. But she adds it was not a falling out with Bailey, her close friend since college.

Bailey could not be reached for comment.

Bailey was embroiled in Troopergate, the investigation of Palin's firing of her police commissioner over allegations he wouldn't fire a trooper who went through a contentious divorce from Palin's sister.

Palin's memoir, "Going Rogue" will be published Nov. 17.

I guess he could always self-publish as an e-book. Don't know if it'll be worth reading though.

I hope Shannyn Moore has something on Bailey's book.

Well Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejan should be protesting this stifling of speech right?

Maybe this book would have been boring.

Troopergate was boring compared to the pay-as-you-get-raped rape kits.

Sounds like Palin's lawyer got into the fray.

I'm not sure. He loves and is very loyal to Palin.

Of course, he was forced to tender his resignation when Parnell took office.

I can't believe that Grifter has this much influence.

"Going Rogue" costs less that $9.01 dollars, pre-ordered, less that most Dr. Seuss books that have been in print for many decades. It has lost 69% of its perceived value and it is not even available yet. "Going Nowhere" is the expected sequel title.

Yoiu obviously haven't bought any Dr. Seuss books lately. I have. I have a 2 year old nephew.

I have. The Poster is right, the hard covered versions do cost more than her book- plus they will never end up at the Dollar store like her book will.

Market distribution information and average Wal Mart literacy rates would be a good starting place to get a glimpse into Palin readers.....and non-readers

Everyone please call the faith based groups who are defending people like this and scaring off votes for health care in God's name. today I was checking channels and heard the CTN channel constantly harping on how bad the HR bill is and asking folks to call (888) 947-9009 to sign a petition to stop the bill. Well I called and told them that they should be ashamed of using their faith to lie to the public. These people are with out guile.
The playing field is not level and there are hardly any outlets for those of us who are progressive in MSM.

By focusing exclusively on the abortion issue in the health-care debate, James Carroll says the Catholic Church is sabotaging its broader moral mission.

What happens when a mainstream institution is taken over by its fringe? One answer plays itself out in the Republican Party, where lunatic rhetoric now defines politics. Another shows itself in the Catholic Church, whose leadership has fallen into the trap of single-issue moralism. That the aggressively lobbying Catholic bishops were prepared to kill the health-care reform bill in the House last week over abortion shows how far they have come from the broad tradition of Catholic social teaching that sees the common good as involving multiple values. Negotiation and compromise are essential to solidarity. When values conflict, as they inevitably do in legislation, ethical reasoning assumes a delicate balance, weighing one issue against another. Abortion represents one such moral question that carries special gravity for Catholics. Despite the bishops’ assertions, however, there are others—notably, a universal right to quality health care, which the bishops have supported for years, but which they were prepared last week to throw overboard rather than accept a compromise that would have covered abortions by patient co-payments instead of government funds.

It is getting to be a real problem. Radical fringe is taking over democracy and they don't care in the name of G-d.

Fuzzy Math Behind Palin Book

Sarah Palin must be praying that her Monday appearance on Oprah will lead to a slot on the talk show maven's book list. In spite of a rumored 400,000-plus first print run for Palin’s memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life, which comes out Tuesday, November 17, the Daily Finance crunches a slew of numbers to reveal that HarperCollins might not want to bank on the book. Palin made the book deal last May, has received a $1.25 million retainer, and is expected to receive up to a $7 million advance, by the time Going Rogue arrives next week. Factoring in actual versus projected print runs for paperback and hardcover copies, Amazon—Wal-Mart—Target discount sales, ghostwriting fees, and the potential total payment to Palin, the Daily Finance claims that HarperCollins will need to sell more than 400,000 copies of the book just to break even—and that’s only if Palin’s total advance was a measly $5 million.

This is great information. I hope they do a follow-up after the book hits the market to let us know how well it really does. I cannot imagine 400,000 people who would buy the book because they support Sarah Palin. If only they could determine who buys it out of curiosity or just to see how many lies are in it, that would be worth knowing.

I don't think I can ever be curious enough to buy her book. Give me Wilkie Collins or Henry James any day.

Yes, I agree with Artist, a great post.

The only thing is, if you remember who owns Harper-Collins, maybe the "profit" is more than just monetary.

Rupie is a conservative zealot. I think he believes that Palin is essential to his agenda.
