My guess is that there were rock slides long before the dawn of man.
The greenies are really stretching on this one.

Lucky it happened this time of year. A bit earlier and the road would have been full of autumn color sightseers or in the summer, full of rafters and day hikers.

The countdown starts to see how long it takes Glen Beck to blame this on Obama.

Oh that was great. LMAO. I'll bet he doesn't get ten minutes into his show before he blames him.

I've seen avalances, but never a rock slide like that. Pretty cool.

Fortunately not today. Good luck! (And take those Falling Rock signs seriously.)

That was a small slide. Nothing but a speed bump. When the road is 20 (higher than your house roof) or more feet under the rubble, then you've had a slide.

Correct! The Union Pacific railroad had a slide in Oregon earlier this year that dumped 60 acres of hillside on 1,600 feet of track. And railroad lines are not nearly as steep as highways, usually being held to less than 2% of grade (2 feet rise in 100 feet). The rail line was closed for three months earlier this year, buried 30 feet deep over much of that half mile of track, in an area of the Cascades where there are no roads and no towns. Next to that, cleaning up this one will be fairly straightforward.
