Thank goodness we're hosting the Winter Games here in Vancouver. I don't think we could afford Phelps' diet at the athlete's village.
Rocky drank raw eggs.
Genes > Training > Diet
throw money right before genes, and you have it
If you're swimming for 8 hours a day, you need at least 4000 calories to maintain your body weight. Yeah you could do that with lean meat and protein, but you'd be eating buckets of salad and a half dozen whole chickens. Its easier to just eat high fat meals.
I don't particularly care to go through the photos, but the 4000-calorie diet stated by phelps is not unreasonable for somone who's active enough to burn it off, and I can hardly think of anyone more active than somone training for the olympics.
If you'll note, the worst thing on his list of foods there is probably the pizza, but even that isn't inherently bad for you.
Yeah, but Phelps is eating 4,000 calories PER MEAL! That's 12,000 calories a day. YIKES!
