What's Your Reaction?
Pawlenty

One month after making a big speech in Iowa, likely 2012 presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty is slated to appear in that other critical primary state.

The Republican Minnesota Governor is headed to New Hampshire -- the first official primary state on the election calendar -- for a mid-December speech for the Republican Senate Majority Committee PAC.

The move drips with significance -- and overt calculation. Pawlenty is introducing himself to critical primary voters. Moreover, he is doing so in an effort to help build up the party apparatus and win seats for the GOP in the mid-term elections (a move that will enamor Republican insiders).

And just to make sure that all the right buttons are pushed, the people in the Pawlenty camp sent the information to a conservative media stalwart: the New Hampshire Union Leader. The paper reports that Pawlenty's visit to the Granite State is "being arranged by strategist Michael Dennehy, who heads the Dennehy Group in Concord and was a senior adviser to GOP presidential candidate John McCain in 2008 and 2000."

Last week, Pawlenty went to Iowa, site of the nation's first presidential caucuses, to speak at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. Pawlenty is also scheduled to appear before The Forum Club in Florida -- another critical primary state.

Pawlenty has employed the same failed strategy that Romney used; a sudden catharsis and a hard turn to the right.

Will the "Purists" of his party trust him anymore than they trusted Romney?

Just like Palin, Pawlenty sees no need to perform his job as governor. Of course, Minnesota is probably better off that way...

I am from Minnesota. I hope he stays there, and then maybe we can get some of out problems solved without him sticking his pointy nose in out business. After all we are nothing but a rung on a ladder to him.

NurseTina:
As another Minnesotan, I also hope "Fee Fee" stays in N.H. He has done significant damage to our great state. Just the matter of cutting off of medical care for poor adults without children (General Assistance Medical Care) will be devastating to our poor and to hospitals. It is simply inhumane. He has, in the past, also significantly raised fees for parents of disabled children who receive special Medical Assistance (TEFRA.) If he wants to run for president, why doesn't he just quit, like Palin did. He'd do less damage.

That's a powerful argument for improving healthcare provision. That sort of problem should have been eliminated in the 21st century.

Pawlenty didn't even support the electoral process in his state with the Franken/Coleman senatorial election. And, he wants to be President of the United States? That's a laugh.

`Pawlenty heads for NH'. Sounds like bad news for NH. Where's it going to head to escape?

"The paper reports that Pawlenty's visit to the Granite State is 'being arranged by strategist Michael Dennehy, who heads the Dennehy Group in Concord and was a senior adviser to GOP presidential candidate John McCain in 2008 and 2000.' " And we all know how well that turned out.

Does Pawlenty realize what year it is now and that he's still governor of a state that needs leadership or is he just following the Palin model of skipping out when it suits him to 'go play' somewhere else?

This poor little fellow is so shallow; I seriously doubt that he could carry Minnesota in a presidential election.

This year New Hampshire's abundant corn crop has attracted more than the usual number of crows. What better way to drive them away than Pawlenty scare crow politicing!

I like the idea of this guy running for President. He seems weak and wishy-washy. I saw him get "verbally" beaten up pretty good on TV the other day when he could not decide who was a good conservative and who was not. Bring him on.

Tim Pawlentyofreasonsnottoelectpresident has been running the State of Minnesota based solely on how his record will appear to primary voters his entire term and perhaps longer.

He's a frothing political beast and he must be shot on sight.

Wow, how did you get that past the censors, I have even the most benign comment deleted, even when (not-so) cleverly disguised. What's your secret?

Happens to me all the time!! It seems like the right wing talking points make it through, but any criticism of them does not.

Seems Minnesota is running itself these days. Paw-lenty of Potholes, why don't you start fixing the problems of Minnesota instead of thinking you can fix our country's problems? NY-23 spoke; you don't count, you have no voice, and no one cares what you have to say.
