What's Your Reaction?

Chad Ochocinco is on a roll this year. His 639 receiving yards are good for 7th in the AFC and his Bengals are 6-2, fresh off a big win against the Baltimore Ravens. (And he was named a HuffPost Game Changer.) But Ochocinco has also successfully executed a fantastic series of pranks. Before last week's game, he sent gift baskets with deodorant to Ravens defensive backs, "so they don't sweat." During the game he jokingly tried to bribe a referee during an instant-replay review.

Earlier today, however, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis ordered him not to send mustard to the Pittsburgh Steelers defenders who will be guarding him this Sunday. But the day wasn't a complete flop for Ochocinco. His latest stunt is a faux NFL bylaw, which he claims "somehow gets overlooked." "Rule #1059" reads:

It is against NFL policy to cover Chad Ochocinco man to man. It has always been a rule but with the events of last year we must have forgotten who he was. Please note that he is still the most uncoverable receiver in the league. This rule is for the safety of embarrassment to all defensive backs.

Thanks!

Chad Ochocinco

I used to like sports, but lately these over paid athletes act like real jerks and think they are above the law! I know some of them are real nice, charitable guys, but most of the time they are either drunk, in a fight, beating up their girl friend, caught stealing, cheating on their wives, and on and on! All the Huffington post will get out of "Sports" is negative gossip. What this Ochocinco does is "childsplay" or "stchick"! If thats all these pompous athletes do it would' nt be so bad! The league should come down hard on thes eguys when they break the law! Give a year off with no Pay!

I like Ochocinco. I enjoy his banter, stunts, etc. However, I DID NOT like last week when he pulled money out during the replay of one of his catches. It just really irked me and I was hoping the NFL would make him pull a more significant amount of money out of his pocket.

I really hope Bengals fans have the where-with-all to make tons of signs that say Rule #1059.

What a great idea, I got a good chuckle out of it. Hats off to Mr. Ochocinco. Love him or hate him, he has made himself a relevant character.

He's not on my team or even one of my favorite players, but I'll admit that his lightheartedness is something that has been missing from the NFL for a while now.

Agreed. The league needs to remember that the game can be fun. He is having fun, so more power to him!

I have never found Ochocinco (or Johnson) funny - not the slightest bit.

I don't mean "not funny" in the sense of being inappropriate or being disrespectful
of the NFL or to the spirit of competitive sport. I mean simply not funny. Period.
What, for example, was funny about him walking around the referees with a dollar
bill in his hand? His heart wasn't really in it and the joke went nowhere.
Same with every stunt that he's pulled.

Even changing his name (incorrectly by the way) to reflect his uniform number is
supposed to be indicative of his wildly imaginative humor. Wha . . . ?

What an embarrassment to black people this step and fetch routine is played out. What will he do next go the Sami Sosa route. In 10 years no one will remember this asshat. He is no Jerry Rice.
