Congressman Gutierrez Endorses Quinn For Governor (VIDEO)

Gov. Pat Quinn has landed the backing of eight-term Congressman and immigration rights champion Rep. Luis Gutierrez, the latest in a series of endorsements for the former lieutenant governor in the 2010 Democratic gubernatorial primary.

"Pat Quinn is a champion for consumers, for senior citizens, for veterans, for Latinos and for all of the people of our state," Gutierrez said at a Friday news conference at Caballeros De San Juan in Chicago. "Governor Quinn understands that every day in Illinois, families are sitting at their kitchen tables making tough decisions about how to make ends meet. Pat Quinn is the person I want in the Governor's office helping those families."

The two men have a long relationship that goes back to when they worked together on the creation of the Citizens Utility Board 25 years ago.

Quinn, who took over for impeached former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, is locked in a bitter primary fight against state Comptroller Dan Hynes. Oak Park attorney Ed Scanlan is also vying for the Democratic nomination.

I don't care who endorses this guy....he's a loser too, just like a majority of the Illinois pols.....we need an outsider here...I have lived in several states and Illinois is a pathetic joke thanks to it's lack of credible leadership.
